vande77 says,
"Season tickets? There is a reason it is called a Season ticket, the racing season begins in April and runs through September (only shows not included in season tickets even 5 years ago were the Nationals and Enduro, now the LM Nationals have been added to that list."
Leave out the shows YOU SAID were not inc. in a SEASON ticket ( also imca mods) and what do you have left? A ticket to ONLY all the sprint car races. Thank you for making my point for me. They should not have changed the policy on season tickets that they have had for years. Buy a Sprint car ticket only or a ticket inc. all the junk classes also.

You just made yourself sound stupid by thinking a 1 day show in April and a 1 day show in June do not fall into the racing season running April--early September.
Again, even 5 years ago (before LM's), the only shows not included in your season ticket were the Nationals and the Enduro (I forgot about the IMCA Mods because they lease the track out for that race). Only change is that with the addition of the LM's, their National tickets aren't included.
If you don't want to watch LM's, just purchase tickets weekly like pretty much everyone else. Last I heard, there were less than 350 season tickets sold (on average) over the last 5 years.
Just my $.02

LOL, in 10 years we'll be hearing LM fans complaining about having to buy the full season of sprint car shows in order to get their good seats for the DLM Nat's.

Sure, they would rather get our money weekly April through Sept rather that get $130,000 from 350 season ticket holders in March. Which means over $4000 income for races that are rained out. I was told there had to be X number of rainouts before they would refund any money.
vande77, All I'm saying is they DID sell a Sprint car ONLY ticket in the past. Leaving out the races YOU said were left out of the season ticket left a Sprint car only season ticket! I don't see the difference in leaving mods & enduros off the ticket and leaving the LM's off. Except that the LM races are so poorly attended they need to bring in some more money somehow and adding them is how they try to do it.
I do by my tickets weekly now, but not having a season ticket makes it easier for the old lady to make me do something else on Saturday nights. I can't use the excuse I have money already invested in tickets to the races. I pretty much only make the bigger shows now. Yes, that loss will not kill the track, but the 800 drop in attendance that Cappy talked about in the Des Moines register was lost 1 person or family at a time. After a while it adds up.
On a positive note, the racing has been great this season (what I have seen) and the events well run. Hopefully this will get back some who were chased away by the rubber down tracks last year.
