We have completed our engine rules for the 305 class at Jacksonville Speedway. Some might call them an attempt to create too big of a tent that has no chance to succeed. We prefer to characterize it as an attempt to create several affordable variations that are "harmless" on our 1/4 mile bullring to the top of the line Burlington rules engines. We plan to continuously evaluate performance of various combinations and reserve the right to handicap certain configurations if necessary. Tech and chassis rules should be done within a few days.

The general spirit of our approach is contained in our "Other" section where we discuss the "Verifiable 5 and 5" engine. Approach us with a configuration that we can easily verify as producing well less than 500 horsepower and that can be commonly built or purchased at a cost of less than $5,000, and you are probably going to be able to race it... subject to further evaluation and handicapping if necessary. Otherwise, build a conforming standard rules engine.

Take a look at the engine rules here: http://jacksonvillespeedway.com/?page_id=1003

Most sensible approach I've seen for 305's. Trying to make it possible for any who want to race to be able to.
