_Becker Back in Victory Lane_
(Chico, CA 7-6-07)...Oroville driver Sean Becker led all 25-laps to win
his third main event of the season for the Fisher-Main Motorsports #35m
JEI chassis on Friday night at Silver Dollar Speedway. Becker started off the season by winning two of the first four point races at the speedway and seemed poised to have another career year. However, that is where the wins had ended. His last win was on April 20^th and it was obvious in victory lane it was a huge relief to get back to the front stretch after a race. “It's been a while, like two months, and it feels so good to get a win again,” said Becker. “Our team has never given up and it's a testament to them for all their hard work this season.” For the win Becker and team pocketed the $2,000 pay day courtesy of Care Free Pools and JPM. “Earlier in the night Bill Bell came up to me and
said I hope you can win tonight. They are such a great family and I want to thank them for sponsoring the night,” said Becker. A total of 24 sprint cars competed during the Feather Falls Casino point race # 15.
Becker grabbed the lead over Korey Lovell on the start. An early red was needed when St. Helena driver Jeff Griffin flipped down the back stretch. The race resumed with Becker as the leader. Stephen Allard, who had won the previous two main events, quickly moved into second. Allard
was followed by younger brother Jonathan Allard. Tim Kaeding brought out the yellow on lap eight. He restarted the race and hustled his way back
into a fifth place finish at the checkered. The race slowed again on lap 13 when Mason Moore spun. On the restart a four car pile-up brought out
a red flag. Johnny Gray was the causality when he tipped over on his side just being in the wrong spot at the wrong time. Others involved included Andy Gregg, Brett Miller and Robert Stice.
The race resumed and it was Brad Sweet who was on the move. Sweet started in the eighth spot and at the time was in fourth. Sweet passed Jonathan on the restart and moved around Stephen on lap 15. Yet, as quickly as he moved the GP Development into a second place position, both Allard's passed him back by lap 19. The final caution waived for Zack Mason on lap 19. This set up a six lap dash to the finish. Becker never faltered and drove away from the Allard brothers. Jonathan made a
nice move around Stephen on lap 22 and but was not able to pressure Becker for the lead. At the line Becker enjoyed a 1.257 second win. Jonathan finished second for Morrie and Katie Williams. Stephen drove the Skip Jones / Johnny's Lock and Safe #1m into a third place finish. Sweet finished in the fourth spot and Kaeding was fifth.
Johnny Gray led all 12-laps to win the B main event. Greg DeCaires followed Gary at the finish. Mason Moore finished third. The final two transfers went to Robert Stice and Brent Bjork.
Jason Statler dominated heat race one. Zack Mason has won four of the last five heat races he has entered. Tonight he got the win in heat two. Tim Kaeding started sixth in heat race three but got the popular win.
Brad Sweet was the only driver in the eleven second bracket in qualifying. Sweet turned a 11.984 to win qualifying honors.
