Get on I-80 East at Newton, to I-280 to head over into Ill, from there to I-74 south clear to Indianapolis, from there to I-465 (take the south route around Indianapolis) take the I-70 exit to Indiana, follow instructions below from Indianapolis. Once you hit Richmond Indiana you pretty much got it licked, just a few more miles of interstate and I'm guessing 30 miles of hwy through some smaller towns on US 127 until you hit North Star

Off the Eldora website:

From: Indianapolis (105 miles)
East on I-70 to Ohio exit 10, north on US 127 to North Star, turn left at traffic light, continue to Eldora Speedway.

The ride there is a lot shorter than the ride home.....

Head south and take 34 to 74. You save a little time and a lot of miles.

I think the way my wife has it mapped out is even different from those 2 ways. It really is amazing how many different ways a guy could go. I think I even checked 2 different map websites and they even went different ways. I would like to possibly try and only take interstates, seems like a person loses so much time slowing down and going through towns. Bill W, what way do you take? Thanks a lot guys!.

Paintboss's rout is the best to stay on Interstates. The final 30 or so miles is 2 lane highway. If you look on the Ohio map. the track actually is on SR 118. Just west of North Star. If you wanna be nice too your wife, the town of Greenville (5-10 miles south of Eldora) has a Kitchen Aid factory. Something to kill time.

When I go to Husets, it is over 100 miles futher by interstate.

I get there quicker by interstate and use less fuel also by taking the interstate.

The best way to get to Eldora from K'ville is on the Dingus Bus. Hands down!

Getting back on the other hand......

It's exit 10 off of I-70 once you get into the Buckeye state. There are usually quite a few bears between the state line and there since they have a quota to fill and they love out of state tags. I would also suggest taking the Airport exit and going away from the airport off of I-465 in Indianapolis to avoid some of the congestion going from 465 to 70.

Thank you very much for the "heads up" Do you think they will pull someone over for 5 mph over the speed limit? I generally do 5 over on cruise when I go on race trips. I have had good luck in Iowa with that. However the other day, a Knoxville city cop followed me to wal-mart, stopped right behind me and gave me a warning for not wearing my seat belt. He told me next time would be like a 86 buck fine. I wasn't speeding or anything. so any race fans coming to Knoxville, buckle up. I have a bad habit of not wearing my seat belt when I just drive in town.

The state of IA as a whole is hitting the seatbelt thing this month. Click it or Ticket Campaign.

Every state is a little different on the how far over you can be (I went about 85 in IL, but was barely keeping up with traffic).
