_Care Free Pools Night at Silver Dollar Speedway this Friday Night _
(Chico, CA 7-06-07)...Nothing sounds better in this Chico heat than a dip into a pool. Thats exactly what you could have if you bought one from Care Free Pools. Bill Bell and his family have been installing pools throughout the North State for many years. A nice refreshing dip into a pool provides some relief in the summer months. During the past two season his grandson Brett Miller has been delivering thrills at the
Silver Dollar Speedway. Miller is a former rookie of the year at the speedway and has enjoyed two career feature main event victory's including one this season on April 6. The Miller family plays a huge role in the festivities at the speedway. Bill and his wife Jeanne are seen early and often at the speedway. Brett's mother, Beth, sings the national anthem before every race. All in all, the Miller family and Silver Dollar Speedway pretty much go hand in hand. All of this action will take place during point race number 15 during the Feather Falls Casino series.
Front grandstand gate will open at 6 pm. Adult general admission is $10.00. Juniors and Seniors are $8.00 and children's price is $4.00. The winged 410-sprint cars will qualify at 7:00 pm with racing to follow. Accompany in the sprint cars will be the wingless spec sprints and pure
stocks. The winged sprint car main event will pay $2,000 to the winner.
A change has occurred atop the 410-winged sprint car point standings. Even though the last name is the same, it's older brother Stephen's turn to lead the points. Stephen won the 25-lap main event on Wednesday night July 4^th . With the win Stephen passed his younger brother Jonathan as
the new point leader. Jonathan led the first two laps of the main event
but was black flagged for exceeding the sound decibel limit and finished 18^th . It was Stephen's third win of the year and second in a row. The
team is gelling at the right moment. Another driver moving up the ladder is Sean Becker. With the absence of Andy Forsberg, third in points, Becker moved into the third spot by finishing fifth in the main event. Andy Gregg also pass Forsberg and is now fourth in the points.
The wingless spec sprints are also experiencing a change at the top. Grass Valley's Jay Youngman is the new point leader. Youngman finished third in the main event on Wednesday. Point leader Brandon Davis experienced a tough night and finished 17^th . Youngman will now have an unofficial lead of six points when the two resume their point battle this Friday night. Marysville driver Charlie Marrs won his second feature of the year for Joe Hunt Magnetos, the featured title sponsor of the wingless series.
Pure stocks return to action this Friday night. Jeff Olschowka returns as the point leader. He is the defending champion of the series. He leads Mike Slightom into this upcoming race. Heather Bartlett sits in the third spot and is right there to battle the top two. He father Jerry, won the previous main event raced at the speedway.
