I guess if I am good at handing out the brickbats I must also hand out the bouquets (flowers).
After my initial criticisms about the World of Outlaws TV coverage, I must now congratulate all parties with the subsequent shows that I have seen since.
Precisely the things we were hoping for are now starting to happen with the TV packaging.
Particularly congratulations to Donny Schatz with his on-camera presentation as well – it was great to see.
I may have been slightly knee-jerk in my initial post a week or two ago, however my intentions were honourable and I still stand by my points that I love this sport and want to see it haul ass.
After all, it is just one fan’s opinion – nothing more.
It is the best motoring spectacle there is and I get frustrated when it doesn’t put its best foot forward sometimes.
To those many people who loved what I wrote initially – thanks for your kind words.
To those who didn’t agree with my comments, thanks for letting me know and I respect your view…
Enough of the negatives anyway.
I hear Parramatta owner Brian Healey was almost run over by Brad Doty, when they saw my posts from here.
I used to work at Parramatta but haven’t for a few years so sorry about that Healeyman!
…and Brad – you have always rocked as a TV announcer and Bobby Gerould does the biz too… that was never the issue… in fact Bobby’s hyped call of Brooke Tatnell’s pass on the TV show was AWESOME!
Well done ESPN and Well done to the Outlaws organization on the improvements made. Keep up the effort and resolve to show the world that the Outlaws rock!
The light at the end of tunnel is getting brighter – and its not an oncoming train after all!
