Hi, does anyone have any information or detailed photos on this car raced by Doug Wolfgang as i am in the process of restoring it here in New Zealand.

Thanks

Brian

I think you mean the car that Wolfie drove in early 1988. I remember him winning a Sunday afternoon WoO show at Eldora in April.

It is a Challenger, but basically a Challenger and a Stanton are the same cars, as the name was just changed after Gary Stanton sold the business.

So that would be 1987?

Yes, 87 was the first year that the cars were called Challengers.

The last Stanton I ever saw race in action was at San Jose Speedway in the early 90's. (I think in 90 or 91) It was with the CRA, a all yellow 1985-86 Stanton with blue lettering 22 or 23. If I recall, he was from the Watsonville/Santa Cruz area.

Hmmm...good info, I was wondering cause wasn't the 40 Stanton's "House" car? Like when Jac, Dave, and Brad drove it?

look at the size of that left rear tire in the first pic.....too bad they aren't still that small

Loose is when you hit the wall with the rear of the
car, tight is when you hit the wall with the front of
the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and
torque is how far you move the wall.

I agree.

IMO, making 1987 Goodyears (all dimensions, compound and tread) the spec tire for every 410 series would do more for containing costs than any rule they've tried to date.
