I wasn't born until the late 70's, so I don't know anything about Gilmore Stadium, Gardena Stadium or Speedway 605. I think the first two were Ascot, but never heard of Speedway 605. Any info on this?

I think Speedway 605 was more commonly called Chula Vista. You could see the border crossing into Mexico from the Track. Went there one time in the late 70,s. Ron Shuman won the CRA race.

I'm wondering why there are two winning drivers listed for the 1995 edition held at Bakersfield Speedway? Were there twin features?? Inquiring minds need to know.
Concerning Speedway 605, even though I'm not from California, in the mid 70's I went to a late model stock car race at Speedway 605. It was a paved oval and I believe it was located near the intersection of Interstate 10 and Interstate 605. I'm not sure when it came to an end.

On second thought the track in Chula Vista was Speedway 117 or something like that. I also was wondering why two winners listed for 1995.

I googled 605 Speedway and watched an old video from there. It looks xactly like Irwindale Speedway today. Just sayin'.

Speedway 605: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72ocWXT421A The address of Irwindale Speedway is 605 Speedway ave Irwindale Ca.
I wonder if the wooden roller coaster off in the distance in turn 3 is still there? It could be the Rock Co. in Irwindale.
That flat, paved, bullring, stockcar racing reminds me of Saugus. Man, did Saugus Speedway have all the hot woman or what. Must have been something in the water.
