I don't post much mostly just stock the page. I have been going to races for quiet a while, and these are just a few things that I have noticed going on and a few predictions I see happening. I don't know more then most people on here so feel free to tell me what you see differently and add whatever you think needs to be added. I'm sorry most of this is directed towards the Knoxville crowd but that's what I know best.

1. Imagine if D. Schatz hit his prime 1985-1995 would we still consider Steve "The King of the Outlaws"

2. Toby Kruse was the best thing that happened to Knoxville since the chicken bites.

3. If Iowa ever wants a nationals champion from the state they better hope that one of two things happen..Brian Brown wants to move closer to Dingus, or Carson McCarl develops into the driver I think he will.

4. Paying extra money to leave your camper at Knoxville sucks, but it needs to be done. Everything is going up, and unfortunately it always falls back on the consumer.

5. I've never been to a race in PA, but I need to go. I am a little concerned it won't live up to the hype I read on here.

6. Bill W. is great for sprint car racing and will be in the Knoxville Hall of Fame in the future.

7. The best kept secret in Iowa is Oskapalooza. How this hasn't caught on more with the locals I'll never know.

8. I don't think T-Mac will ever win a nationals, but neither will Rahmer, S. Smith, J. Saldana or Jason Myers. Making it all more impressive of what the multi-winners have done.

9. Kyle Larson is the real deal.

10. Knoxville is at a point where it needs to make great advances in marketing or start planning for its demise. I don't know what those changes are but I hope Brian Stickell does. They are on the verge of being a second teir dirt race track and with their facilies they can afford it.

1. Imagine if Dick Gaines would have been in his prime 1975-1995! Would he be referred to As King Dick? And who would Steve had drove for?

Totally agree with #2 & #9 and as far as #10 the best statement concerning K'ville written in a long time. Also #6 is destined to a monument at Knoxville H o Fame,a big one .

What other track that runs weekly is Knoxville in danger of falling behind?

My comment about falling behind wasn't necessarily meant for weekly racing. Knoxville prides themselves on the Nationals. Events like the World Finals, Kings Royals, Gold Cup, etc. will start taking people's week of vacation, instead of spending it in Iowa. I don't think Knoxville wants their fans, who have been making their yearly destination to start experimenting with other environments. I would compare it to the Major League Baseball strike. You never want your fans to realize that they can live without something. Look how long it took for attendance to grow back. Sprint cars and Knoxville don't have enough fans to build, destruct, and rebuild.

If Knoxville really makes all of their money in 1 week in August, that could be the beginning of the end. I hope I'm wrong, but this is just what I'm thinking.

Great post. I still think if Schatz were in his prime while Kinser was in his prime, it would have cost Donny as many wins as Steve. So, Steve would only have 500 wins and only 15-17 championships. Still would be King. Also, I think Knoxville needs to make advances but I don't think they need to be great advances. They are not struggling by any means. Crowds the last two years have been lighter at the Nationals, but not by 40% or anything. They are going in the right direction with changes to formats, etc. A slow and steady economic recovery would be the best thing for the Nationals. In the mean time they just need to hold their ground and make some subtle changes for the good. Also, 100 cars are plenty. I don't really care to see the 20 or 30 cars that can't make it to the heats with bad qualifying efforts. But, I get your points.

#10. Knoxville's weekly show appear to be doing well, for all 3 classes. I rarely have complaints. Most Saturday nights after the races I'd be home at a decent time and concessions are good and fair. I think it's awesome to get the drivers in the stands in front of the kids during intermission, sign some autographs, while making some new fans. Check the stands some times and see how many people are on their phones. Run some type of contest through fan and phone interactions for a drivers tee shirt. Based upon the advertising I've witnessed in the past few years it appears to be up, tv commercials, radio, flyers and promotions on tickets. To me they are reaching out and attempting to entice patrons to come. The crowds have been good and the racing as well. To me Knoxville is holding steady given the conditions. #8 I think TMAC is capable of winning the big one. I was disappointed Austin was able to find a 410 ride at Knoxville this season as he has shown potential. The next track champions not named McCarl, or Lasoski will be named Heskin or Zomer. Brown would be on that list if he ran every Saturday. #7 The race in Osky is exciting. For a couple years the track was heavy due to rain but out of control of everyone. I wish they'd move in some of the tires for the sprints to make the corners wider.

Unfortunetly Oskie happening the same week as K-Ville Nat's is a catch 22. Some teams would like to race it (Oskie) but don't want to take the chance of busting up there stuff days before the biggest race of the year. Maybe if it was the day after the Big event..You might get your true racers to attend the race .

How true this statement is. Just ask Lasoski and Forbrook when they tried to put another cherry in their basket before the 1989 Nationals in Owatonna, Minnesota when he hit a Caterpillar during his accident. OUCH !!!
