What's your beef? It is an opinion! Cowtown wingless I would agree more dangerous. You ever see a non wing car roll? I'd leave SST out of it. SST has been a great addition to sprint car racing and fields full shows.

You can't call out then entire SST for one moron's useless, and completely classless opinions.

I've been trying to register for that forum now for quite some time, but it never sends my confirmation email. If I could, I would tell Merrell off on there, and as he always requests, in person. What he said is extremely f/cked up!

On to the other point.

True, wingless is more dangerous, but a wingless class is something great for the fans, and the old schoolers. These drivers are used to their wings, and will be driving them like they have wings. They're not weekly non wing guys like out west, and up north. They won't be hammering them through the corners running people over.

Exactly, agree with you. The driver is not forced to race this race so no big deal. I hope it's a hell of a show but DO NOT bash SST. It's the best thing for sprint car racing in the south or in that Texas area. Trying to make sprint car racing affordable and look at the programs results. Looks like they got something going right. Good luck to all.

The reason why I put the video on the is becasue there are plenty of people that don't know the dangers of racing wingless. I didn't post it on there to be a dick or to upset anybody it was strictly an educational video. Even tho it is a bad situation for what happened to Hmiel and I hope that it never happens again, unfortunately it will.

About you wanting to tell me off to my face, just let me know what tracks you usually attend or if you want to talk over a cup of coffee I will be more than happy to meet you and hear what you have to say. Now I will say this tho, I probably wont agree with anything you say.

Just who are you trying to educate? I'm just a fan who has never turned a single lap, and I'm well aware that non-wing racing is more dangerous. Are you saying that there are drivers out there that aren't aware of it? Seems to me it's just common sense. I'm curious who you think "plenty of people" is, because I can't imagine any driver or fan who's been around the sport at all not being aware of it. and I hope that it never happens again, unfortunately it will. Really, who couldn't have figured that out? What happened to Hmiel may very well happen again, but are we trying to say we won't lose another winged driver? We can all think of drivers who lost their life in winged races too can't we? Your posts have little merit and more likely show what little common sense you have.

Non-wing Sprint Car racing is by far more exciting. Yes, they crash, but so do winged cars. When it is your time it is your time and guys get seriously injured in both forms of Sprint Car racing. It is what it is. If I had my choice I would run our car without wings. Now that my daughter has stepped away from the sport I have been seriously considering it. Wingless, from my perspective as a fan, is by far the better of the two forms of Sprint Car racing.

In my opinion you are just another screwball on HOSEHEADS who has a opinion and that's fine, but how about some facts instead of your tasteless childish sensationalism?

I'll be at Canyon for all 6 nights, section B top row 17.

Kevin Montgomery PEORIA, Ariz. (November 24th, 2012) - While the end of 2012 nears and Peoria's Canyon Speedway gears up for 2013, Arizona race fans can mark their calendar for one of the hottest events of the year as The best of the best in Wingless Sprint Cars and IMCA Modifieds tackle Canyon Speedway's 1/3-mile clay oval for six races over the course of nine days on January 25th, 26th, 27th, 30th February 1st and 2nd.

The 2013 Winter Challenge will feature top traditional Sprint Car drivers from around the country as the American Sprint Car Series faces off with the USAC West Coast Sprint Car Series while IMCA Modified aces converge in the valley of the sun for what is anticipated to be one of the largest racing events of 2013. More than $100,000 in "A" Feature money alone will be distributed over the course of the blockbuster event that kicks off with the $2,000 to win Winter Challenge opener and will conclude with the $5,000 to win finale on February 4th.

And shut my eyes when those unsafe non wing sprint cars are running, they scare me!... In fact I'm thinking about starting a petition to have all the 1/2 mile tracks closed!! Those cars both winged and non wing, are going waaaaaay to fast to be safe on a 1/2 mile.

Hey 41merrell - it's me again....from the Houston site where you originally made the senseless "educational" post. Bring your coffee to Tulsa the second week of January for the Chili Bowl and we'll discuss winged / non-wing racing. Be sure to wear your big-boy pants; Chili Bowl is NON-WING racing and might make YOU really nervous.

morbidtacos even your name sounds as idiotic as your posts.

My message was mistakenly posted with an off handed comment that was surely better not said, and I apologize to Shane Hmeil for that. I absolutely didn't mean any disrespect to him or anyone for that matter.

As for as you confronting me in person, I really don't think you want to or you wouldn't hide behind your screen name, but I'm sure there is a reason for that.

Great for the fans and old schoolers usually means more costs and dangerous situations for drivers but I do realize my opinion is just that; my opinion.

Kenny you have been scared a lot lately. So you enjoy your 360 non wings and us ppl from Southern California will be bringing our elite 410 series over there soon to really scare the hell out of you. What was it you said to Don ? I ain't never seen a sprint car do that before.
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.

Ha, you sure like to take that out of context and with different words, don't you Randy?

Hey, if you guy's don't start putting more butts in the seats over that way, you're going to loose my ( I was in Torrance when it changed from Roadster to Racing) CRA 410 series. I was over for six races last year, that's probably more than a lot of you so called fans in S Cali who live within a 100 miles of the track were there..So there. LOL...That's right, we're going to have to carry the CRA at Yuma and Canyon for four nights of racing, and thats not counting the 2 day show before the Ovals.

Lol . Knew it wouldn't take you very long to respond . But you would be hard pressed to find a race I didn't drive to from so cali the last couple of years. Within 400 miles or more each way. And back to this thread I've seen hard hits in wing and non wing . But that's racing and that's why them bad asses do it . And I'm a firm believer that non wings are more of a drivers show. and my favorite. But my oh my them wings haul ass.

You my friend are like so many of my other friends, hard core; or maybe just crazy.

You need to come over for at least the last two nights of the Winter Challenge on the first and second of Feburary dirtbutt, Groundhogs day is my birthday. Tracy had that place radio'd last year, but it's going to be tougher with more cars this time around.

Oh!! Did you forget that Mike Martin in a 360 not only beat our CRA 410's last year, but the National boy's as well?
