Saldana and Sammy are starting a two car team with sponsorship from Dale Carnigie next year. They also tried to get Schatz but Carnigie said he can only do so much.

Reported on ibracn
RUMOR - (10-21-12 @ 12:15 am) - Sprint News @SprntCarNews on Twitter posted at about 9:15 pm Saturday night that Joey Saldana does have a WoO ride for next year. The twitter account states that there will be an announcement after the world finals in Charlotte on what car he will be driving.
RUMOR - I'm hearing Joey is starting his own team and alread has a major sponsor supporting the effort. Guess we will see after the first weekend in November.

Little off topic but it is Saldana related, Is Saldana Racing Products any relation to Joey, like the families business or is it just a coincident that it's named that and no affiliation with Joey or his family. I've just wondered that before but never seen anything that tells me one way or the other.

Thanks, I knew Joey's dad Joe was a former racer but I just didn't know if the company was their Families company, kind of assumed it was but we know what happens when you assume too much.
Thanks again for the reply.

Good to hear! Now if only we could get Paul McMahan and Shane Stewarts rides in the WoO!

Joey's father--Joe Saldana won the Knoxville Nationals in 1970 and he was part of the 11th class (2000) of inductees into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum located in Knoxville, Iowa.

Joe Saldana started the business, but sold it many years ago.

So then at this point Joey or his family has nothing to do with the business?

I'm sure whoever the new guys are will be considering Mopar power since Joey had been a title contender every year until the very moment they switched to the chevs.

I was wondering the same thing...why no Roush Yates engines in WoO? Are there even any Mopars running in the WoO now?
