Rolling into Tulare on Thursday there will be many sprint car both non wing and winged to start 3 days of The Trophy Cup.

On Thursday the non-winged car will qualify , run a heat race plus a "D","C" or "B" main then the top 15 from heats plus 5 transfers from the "B" will start with a 10 car inversion for the 1st "A" main 25 laps. The 2nd "A" main will be completely inverted by points going 50 laps to determing the Trophy Cup Wiiner.

On Friday the winged cars will qualify with the top 48 making up the 6 quailfier heats and the balance going in 4 non-qualifier heats. we will run 2 "D' main "C' main "B' main and a 30 lap "A" main inverting 12 cars.

For the Final Day will run 6 heats plus 3 "D's" "C" "B" and the 50 lap "A" completely inverted by points with the winner of the Trophy Cup taking home $20,000.

This should be the best field of quality drivers assembled in California this year

A lot of passing will go on in the 3 days of racing if thats what you want to see BE AT THE TROPHY CUP.

Don't forget we have Fiesta Night after Friday night race and the spaghetti feed Sat at noon.

I've never missed the Trophy Cup since it's 1st Annual event in 1994. Never have I been disappointed with the event in ANY way. It has without a doubt become THE BEST sprint car race of the year.

I have produced a video of all 18 of those events except 2007 when I let someone else do the show with my equipment.

Unfortunately, I never got any footage from '07! I will be producing a DVD of this week-end. I will be bringing DVD copies of the last 5 events for anyone that is interested in seeing how those shows unfolded. The DVD's include every lap that occurred from qualifying to victory lane and copies will be available for $15 per event.

In '06 Haudenschild came from 15th to win the feature but TK won The Cup in Rod Tiner's 83 then did AT LEAST 20 donuts in the victory celebration!

'08 Brad Sweet was in Tiner's 83 and chased Sammy for the win. Sammy thought he had won it and he was doing donuts in the infield while Brad was receiving The Trophy!

'09 TK and Shane Stewart had an awesome shootout from the back row, thru heavy traffic, trading the points lead several times as it progressed . . . . TK became the first, and only, last place starter to win the feature and the cup. Randy Hannagan was the leader when TK got to him and put up a good back-and-forth battle leading to TK's feature win!

'10 Tk was in another shootout but this time it was with Kyle Larson that had the fans on the feet. Tk pulled off the feature win but Jonathon Allard got his first Trophy Cup win!

'11 Kyle Larson had a problem on friday that affected his points for Saturday therefore started 3rd which didn't give him enough cars to pass for the necessay points for the Cup but put on a clinic to win the feature while lapping up to 5th. Haud started 24th, Allard started 23rd. Brad Sweet, from 22nd was the man on the move getting up to 4th in 21 laps then damaged the car in RR contact with the wall. Allard had to go to the work area on 17th & had to restart last but

came back to pass Haud on L39. They were in heavy traffic resulting in Haud's winning pass splitting traffic with 2 laps to go to win The Cup for the 2nd time.

I've been considering producing a "The best of 20 years at the Trophy Cup" after next years $50,000 to win show.

Randy Mussel should be there shortly if he isn't already so consider this fair warning :-). Matt will be there tomorrow some time and I will be getting there late tomorrow. Kevin Eckert is confirmed scheduled to appear and will be in the same area. Outside of the drive down very much looking forward to the Trophy Cup.
