California gets the win (Mcmahan, total true outlaw this year), followed by posse member of Hodnett, and WoO member Madsen. Pretty even across the board after night one. Congrats to Paul on his win!

On Twitter earlier before the race Paul said specifically if he won at the Grove that it would be a win for California. He said hes been called a lot of things in PA but he is definitely NOT Posse. Nothing to get too worked up over Posse fans he is just proud of his roots. Good job Paul on the victory! Such a class act all the way.
Cheers!

80% car, 20% driver. McPosse would have got run over by McHodnett in another lap.

That's all you can come up with? Really? That's it? Very dissapointing. I mean com'on dude, that's it? Your running out of exscuses. The year Sammy won it, you proclaimed loud and clear to everyone on here that Sammy flat out admited he wasnt an outlaw, therefore it wasnt an outlaw win. Pauly flat out said, mind you, even before the night started and once again in victory lane that "you can call me whatever you want, but Im just a kid from California that wants to win races." IF Paul was posse, he would admit it, he's an up-front guy. Now in regards to your 80% vs. 20% comment. This is the same 80% car that couldnt win a race all year you are talking about, right? Fred had how many QT's in it this year? Paul has more results in just 4 nights of racing the 51 than Fred had all year. Yep, it's all car. LOL. Cubes, your even having a hard time convincing yourself on this one. Great job for the California kid last night!

I'm more concerned with what happens on the track than who's from where/etc. always hoping to see the locals (in my case WI, IRA) do well, but really, I just want to see an sxciting race. localism is overrated. the world isn't as big as it used to be.

Get a grip. Rahmer just beat the Outlaws in the same exact car 4 months ago. It's what Posse does.

The Outlaws got handed a beatdown by California all season, now the Posse and Outlaws got a beatdown by the lone California driver in the A at Williams Grove.

No offence PA Posse fans, but it looks like the power has shifted to California as the toughest place to win a 410 race with the top drivers.

Knoxville showed an indication of how tough California is with Meyers and Larson winning the qualifying nights and 6 cars in the A. California also has 11 woo wins this season not including the two wins at Knoxville.. Thats the highest of any state with drivers not on tour fulltime.

It's pretty clear that with all 3 CJB cars in the top half of the A-field that the car was never the problem, it's just that Fred's time has finally passed.

Once they get a taste of being able to race a 100 times a year in Outlaw caliber equipment it's awful hard to go back...

Going back to Cali? Cali? Cali? Huh, I don't think so....

I read a story in either Flat Out or SprintCar and Midget maybe 3 or 4 years ago about Paul McMahan, basically about the very high "highs" he's had in racing and the very lows. Getting one of the greatest rides in WoO history then losing it, etc. Also, he didn't mince words about where he considered himself from---California---getting wins for California. BUT, as a longtime Kerry Madsen fan (maybe soon an Ian Madsen fan too), I think if Kerry had not chosen the bottom on that restart with 8 to go that he would have drove away from the field as he had been doing. I don't know if that decision was his or the team or owner or crewchief but the decision surprised the announcer as well as me what with the shape of corner #1. Looks like on a tv that its nearly a 90 degree turn, then turn 2 looks more like a real turn, but that's the tv view.

Lawlessness and liberalism equals Hell. NY City,
Detroit, Seattle, Chicago, Minnepolis, etc. We saw it.
Burning hundreds of buildings, a thousand assaults and
dozens of murders. Getting worser and worser.

Please point me to the part of the interview where Paul states he is posse. I noticed Bruce was begging for him to say it, but I must have missed the part where Paul stated it. Just tell me the time on the clock counter where Paul stated it. That will clear things up quite a bit for all of us then.

This is still an argument? If you race in PA your Posse (hence how Greg Hodnett and Daryn Pittman get called Posse). If you race with the WoO, your an Outlaw no matter where your from. I don't think Paul does either at this stage so I think he can fairly avoid the argument, although I'd imagine if he has no plans to be considered Posse in the future than that car will be running a much different schedule than it has? I'm pretty sure the WoO media team would label him as such before PA fans would. As for CA producing more drivers then PA, I'd say that's pretty fair to say. The population of CA is 38 million, the population of Central PA is about a million, give or take a few thousand. In a numbers sense, it's kinda hard to be competitive in the "breeding drivers" game.

Who cares where a driver is from? It's where you race that matters. Anyone hung up on heritage, rent "Roots, a mini series'!! I guess Andrew Luck isn't really an Indianapolis Colt because he isn't from Indiana...geej, ..get over it. Doesn't matter what you call him, looks like he's going to spending some time in Pa next year.

Yeah because the posse needs a Cali born and raised driver to show them the way. Lol I'm just stirring the pot a lil .
We need more sprint car racing at our home track.
