For $29.99 you can get a web design program from the discount bin at Best Buy. Free is Free. A lot of folks will accept mediocre free over reasonably priced good. Hard to compete with that. Even when the diction is not that great.

Because DAnny, many of us are trying to make a go of businesses. Businesses that require profit to stay around. When you give your services away (and only charging for domain name is giving it away) you reduce the value of other peoples services. These people have been around for quite awhile and now will ultimately give of what they do because they can not compete with free. Then you get bored with the whole thing because you can not make any money either since you gave it away to "get your name out there". Now teams have to scramble around on their own because no-one is providing the quality service they need for themselves or their sponsors. Media outlets receive less news, less press releases and less information. Some stop covering it all together. The whole sport suffers.
That is what the big deal is DAnny and why you are receiving so much criticism. If you would like more explanation than that contact me offline.

I love it. Must be desperate to post on a message board. If you don't already now somebody that wants a free site or wants some help with a site then you are in trouble. The way the post is written is a little disturbing.
The free or cheap guys usually never make it since it takes too much time and effort.

Constructive Criticism:
You should look at sites in other browsers, etc. to verify what the world sees..

Yeah, I've been aware of that for some time now, but I've been to busy to address it. That particular site only sees about 100 visitors a month and 99.2% of the visitors are using IE, so it is on the back burner for now.
As far a browsers go, I wish that these people could get on the "same page", it would sure make life easier!

another thought danny......the people who jump on a basically free service will more than likely jump to another guy just trying to get his name out there when you tell them you need to raise your prices to pay the bills....so you will lose all your customer base when you try to make a living at it, so in the end you have really not accomplished any of the main parts of starting your own business.

Agreed, there is plenty of work out there if a person want's go hustle it up. I don't look for jobs, I just do it for fun. I have turned down quite a few offers because I like my free time.
