I take it the West Liberty race is a 50 lap feature!!!! Sounds like a lot of laps for a sprint race

For those that attended the show in West Liberty last year.....there is a new promotional group in charge of track prep. They bring back someone who prep's 80 tracks a year and has a lot of experience on the West Liberty surface. This year's track will be much better!
[/p]
For those that haven't been there, the support class will be the best weekly late model show in the country, the track is a unique oval that is slightly D shaped with huge trees inside turn 2. Try the pork tenderloins...they are better than Knoxville's ever were.

They call it the firecracker 50 because they run the late models 25 and the sprint 25. And you are right the late models are awesome. So were the sprints last year.
Tell me how much money you got and I'll tell you how
fast you can go!

What I like about Liberty is you ca sit in the bleachers in turn 1 and watch
them come straight at you down the front chute. Probably not the safest place
to sit but the view is great.

Just to set the record straight, the guy who promoted last year knew exactly what to do with track prep. It was when he left the track in the afternoon that certain members of the fair board thought they knew better and made a bad situation of it. But yes, this year is under the direction of Simmons Promotions, back at the helm after a few years of absence from my home track. No matter who promotes, Liberty is a great track full of history and charm. Safety is not like Knoxville. But the racing will be good. I'll post whatever results I can get afterwards for those who can't make it.

The safety CREW at West Liberty is top notch....almost as good as Knoxville's....at least as close as anyone out there, along with the IRA safety crew. The catch fencing has been improved on the frontstretch since I have last worked the track....I do not know when. It looked pretty solid to me, at least the area around the flagstand. (I did not pay attention to the T1 fencing). Stacey, I don't know if you are talking about Kile or Chalupa, but last year did leave some very ill feelings among the fans and drivers. This year those problems will not happen.

Jerrod Hull won the B and came from second to last row to win an absolute thriller. I'm working on the full results (or as full as I have right now...coming soon in a new post.)

I was talking about Kile. He had the track in the right spot but left in the afternoon before some others did. Or so that's my understanding. I wasn't there. But I believed it.
