Local Hero Jamie Lathroum Whips Lucas Oil Regulars.
Jamaica, Virginia - Ernie Shelton's 33rd annual USA 100 visited the 1/2 mile speed plant here in Eastern Virginia, for a two-day, $20,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Series event, supported by a pair of full racing programs for the open wheel modifieds. With near perfect weather, the weekend opened on Friday night with qualifying and a pair of 25 lap features for the late models, and a full program for the open wheel modified division. Saturday night capped off with another full modified race program and the 50 lap big money event for the powerful late model beasts, thrilling the fans all along the way as they watched a local hero Jamie Lathroum take the famed Eagle trophy.
