There was a derogatory remark made in the "what is a foaw" thread about the allstars based on a lack of knowledge of fact. It was the only one that comes to mind and I try to follow most topics concerning the allstars so take that as you may.........
|
I had actually forgotten about that comment, Power. I live in PA and I have to say that I was actually pleasantly surprised that there wasn't much chest thumping coming from Posse fans following the All-Star races.
MSPN, there were years in the late 1990s into the early part of this decade that I actually saw more Modified and Late Model races than Sprint Car races because some of those years, I got tired of going to the Grove or Lincoln and knowing that Rahmer or Hodnett or Dewease were going to win unless something weird happened.
But the last two years have been the most competitive WEEKLY racing in PA that I can remember since at least the late 1980s. There was a stat in the opening day Grove program that last year was the first time without a 20-race winner in PA since 1991. Even with Doug Esh coming back down to earth this season and Chad Layton losing his ride at the end of last season, the big three are not dominating like in the past. Dewease and Rahmer have not been overly fast much of the year.
I am surprised at how the 410s have rebounded in PA the last two years. For a couple years, the Grove was drawing 24-25 410s a night. But I don't think there has been a weekly show at the Grove this season with less than four heats and 33 cars. Even the Saturday 410 tracks are drawing full fields every week.

The WoO crowd couldn't even come close to the amount of people that packed the Grove last night! What a run by Montieth!
I think it's going to take some bad luck to keep Greg from taking the title now.

I think it's a classic toss-up myself. Veteran team, Hodnett, Moon and Yingst, versus a young kid with a heavy right foot. They're tied going into the last two races...time trials pay a lot Speedweek points and they're heading to two fast joints in Port and Selinsgrove. Wolfe WILL be on kill as usual (ahhh, to be 20 again...lol). We'll see if Hodnett is up to the challenge.

Yeah, but at least he finally finished on the podium...lol. Move to evacuate the 22 car is looking as about as good as the one he put on Lucas earlier this year...lol. Rahmer has still been one of the fastest cars all season regardless however. I also would have bet Wolfe would have run better at Port Royal last night. A lot of drama to unfold in the points chase tonight. Nice to see Kauffman having a strong week!

Hey cubic. You are a numbers guy. Add up the total points with all the results on the two of them. With those point totals, Lucas never got points at Bedford for his heat race. Add all the points without that heat race and the number match exactly. And the point system is exactly as you posted previously.

Another typical dumbass attack by the biggest in PA....BRR.
I called your FOAW the AWOL in terms of success, or lack of it vs the WOO. Of course that was only after the usual incessant ranting that you usually do got on my nerves. You never seem to get it, people don't dislike your posse, they dislike you. LOL!
Never have the All Stars had success vs the posse on their home tracks, and nowhere did I say to expect any. So twist my words to cover your ass (or should I say dumbass attacks) but it doesn't change the facts. Bedford showed that the guys can run with your bunch on a moderately neutral track since all your guns were there, but I am sure you have a reason why that was. You have a great time spinning everything else.
We were thrilled to have Dewease run with us, he did a pretty good job too.
From looking at the current speedweek points and results, I am wondering where your FOAW are burning up the track? Wolfe seems to be the only one and I can't help but wonder if it's because of his extensive travels these last couple of years...Good for him, not afraid to hit the road and race against anyone. Plus he's a decent character, nice kid. Apart from him though, it looks like Hodnett, Stevie Smith, Keith Kauffman, Todd Shaffer, Lance Dewease and uh-oh....here comes Fred. Hardly youngsters.
I guess my bottomline is that when you get caught being the usual turd you are, try keeping me out of it. Unless of course you need someone to flush the turd, I am happy to push the handle for ya. Better stick with fighting with Canadians who you won't have to see later.

FOAW
coach: i was not present for the race a bedford, guess if was my appointed round i could be considered AWOL for that event. our young guys rans well enough to give Rahmer, Lance and other plenty of fits. a few QTs and plenty of passing from Montieth kept the fans happy. see you later in the week.

Nice to see Sean Michael and the Jim Nace team get a win. They ran up front all weekend, a true feel good story.
Hats off to Lucas Wolfe on the Speedweek Title. A perennial quick timer, this season he's been in the hunt nearly every night as well... Looks like we have yet another heavy hitter in Central PA. Also hats off to the 22 team...they came awful close.

CONGRATS to Lucas and his team. The first honest to goodness FOAW sincle the great G-Man. Hitting the road has most certainly sharpened this young talent's skills and racing against better competition always brings your game up another level, case proved. Take It Easy.....
PS The torch is being passed perhaps????

I'm sure Lucas Wolfe racing anything he could get his hands on, 410 and 360, around here three or more times a week had nothing to do with it as well...lol. In fact, if my memory serves me correctly, wasn't one of the reasons he left the 11h because THEY DIDN'T RACE ENOUGH...lol?
Maybe by your standards, Stevie Smith should probably go on the road more as well? That is if he wants to be able to beat us at home? Get real...lol. Rahmer and Dewease have had excellent careers without following the circus. Each to their own.

My point Mr. cut and paste is simple. A young gun is finally emerging from your area for the first time in about a decade. Stevie has had his turn and those 50+ Outlaw wins reflect his success which he achieved with class. You of all people should be excited there might be a new sheriff in town while the others fit nicely now into their rockers on the porch, so to speak, lol. Take It Easy....
PS Takin' a shot at Stevie while your man does squat, shameful.....

Twist your own words, not mine...lol. I'm happy the Smith's have been racing around here all year. Outlaws smoutlaws, all roads lead to home. The Outlaws come here to get schooled, not the other way around. Always have...always will.

the last lap restart pass when the 5w got by the 30 car sealed the deal...proof the ever sport gained in speedweek and every .001 on the stop watch accounted for something. looks like lucas is on the "road" this week.
