Happened at Wayne County Speedway saturday night. Mitch Harble is the drivers name. Him and Dallas Hewitt got together on the front stretch, with Harble flipping to a stop in turn 1 lucky to walk away.

Most of the breaks happened at the welds.

Thank God for roll cages. Those old timers who drove with little roll bars or none at all had lots more balls than brains.

I commented at Speedy Bill's museum that those old roll bars didn't look too helpful. The tour guide told me a quote from an old time driver; "The difference between those roll bars & none at all was the difference between an open casket funeral & a closed one"

For 2 days I have not said anything because I didn't want to bring it up. If the cage had XXX on it there would have been 200 post by now.

Omg! Glad he's ok. Come on guys someone has to bash Triple X for this. Maybe it was a Triple X that crashed him. If this was a X car they would had to shut this down by now. Again glad he's ok.

From the racers facebook page ... "Schnee chassis".

Brian Schnee builds some of the nicest cars, Lord knows Ive destroyed a couple of them now and walked away from both, chromoly tubing has a shattering charteristic due to its high level of carbon, a mild steel car in this case would just bend up and kink most likely. the welds on both my cars that were destroyed look similar, did the welds break? , hell no! 90% of the time the point of load is going to be present at the intersection of triangulation , sure it looks decieving, but I invite anybody to come look at both my destroyed Schnee's and have a look for yourself , I run Brians cars and I run a few XXX bolt on items, I havent had a failure on either premature, I will NEVER hesitate to thow my leg over the hoop in a Schnee, I dont know the particulars of this wreck but it looks to have taken multiple impacts with something very hard, most of the tubing in a race car will save you once from a near miss, the second time of impact if the bar is kinked, your on your own, I just hope we all have "cat like" 9 lives, and the lord hasnt called our # yet. that mess of a car almost makes me sick, at first I thought it had to be a non wing car, unbelievable how much that thing bent, what gives this week? , I thought KM Spencer photos were bad enuff.. glad all walked away unharmed.. very glad.
