For Immediate Release (Thursday August 30, 2012):
Tropical storm Isaac strikes again.
Due to the storm's projected path over the next (36) hours, the decision has been made to cancel the ASCS Midwest vs Warrior regional event which was to be held tomorrow night, (Friday August 31st), at US36 Raceway in Cameron, MO.
The National Weather Service is forecasting a 40% chance of rain Friday afternoon with steady increases up to 80% by 7:00PM for the Cameron, MO area.
US36 Raceway track owners, along with both the ASCS Midwest and Warrior region directors discussed the matter and all agreed that this is the correct decision keeping everybody's interest in mind.
The next scheduled events are:
Friday September 7th - ASCS Warrior region @ Grain Valley, MO
Saturday September 8th - ASCS Midwest region @ McCool Junction, NE
Sunday September 9th - ASCS Midwest region @ Eagle Raceway, NE
Friday September 21st - ASCS Midwest region @ Greenwood, NE
Saturday September 22nd - ASCS Midwest region @ Greenwood, NE

Is it just me or does the ASCS seem to jump at any chance to cancel a midwest/warrior race lately? Humbolt, KS got canned many hours before a drop ever fell according to locals, I even read that somebody called the track after reading the press release and the people answering the phone weren't aware of the cancellation.
As ridiculous as travel costs have gotten I am not necessarily bashing their decisions but I have yet to see proof that weather forecasting is an accurate enough science to be cancelling races days before hand.
Hope the trend doesn't continue in late September because the Hockett/McMillan Memorial is a must see for me.
Loose is when you hit the wall with the rear of the
car, tight is when you hit the wall with the front of
the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and
torque is how far you move the wall.

I guess you can go to the two day ASCS National show at Lake Ozark Speedway this weekend now.

Judging by the radar its probably the best decision. Never easy to take a rainout this late in the season.
Never know when you'll get to see another sprint car race. Hope we get lucky in Knoxville tomorrow.

While they made the decision a little early, it was the right decision. It has been raining pretty much all day in the KC area, and during the mid afternoon hours it started raining a lot harder. All of the other Friday night tracks in the area have also cancelled.

No idea why they cancelled all the teams could have bolted on their floating pod attachments to the nerfs and put the propellers on the end of headers and had winged 360 boat races!
