What do you consider a TEAM? Is it just buddies who race together? Use the same shop? Have 1 owner? Use same equipment?
The reason I brought this up is because I don't understand how "teams" like TSR and BIG GAME benefit from each other. How do you have "team mates" using different chassis, different engines, different shocks helping each other? At least KKR's drivers run the same equipment. Makes sense as a business stand point to me.
do it in the dirt

I would say all of them classify as teams and teamates per the definition. As far as which team seems to be the closest to what a nascar team would be? I would have to say that would be KKR. I don't know if Sammy and Craig are buddy, buddy and share info all night long. And, it seems to me that Steve and Kraig are more like teamates than he is with Donny. After all, I believe what Steve and Kraig are using is more similar than the equiment of Steve and Donny. Anyone disagree?

No, I think you hit the nail on the head. The TSR teams, all of them,( Donny, Steve, Levi Jones and even Smoke himself) all run different chassis, engines, shocks, etc) as do Sammy & Craig. About the only common thing between those teams is one listed owner. Seems like they could get a better enconomy of scale if they ran all the same stuff. That being said, they all seem to be successful running things they way they do so what do we as fans know????

I agree. I like it that they run their own and don't let someone monopolize each area of their teams. Kyle Petty said it best on Windtunnel Sunday night. To sum it up: be careful what you wish for. When all of this big sponsorship money rolls in, so do the "the fritos, pringles, ky jelly, hostess, pepsi, maxim chassis, chevy, exxon, interstate, goodyear car ran great all night!" No one gets to run their own equipment, and be themselves. I am glad TSR and Big Game have left this part of it open for the most part it seems. I am sure there are some guidelines, but to the untrained eye, it looks like they can each be their own teams and make the decision that is best for them.

In some ways it does make sense too. Different chassis and setups work different on different tracks so it would stand to reason that by having a more diverse range within the team, they can be a little more successful for the greater good (i.e. the team owner).

My only concern about multi car teams in Sprint Car racing is when the owner decides to hang it up the series would lose two or three cars. What do they have following the full tour, ten, twelve, this year? Ten minus three makes seven, not a good prospect, especially when they race in areas where there aren't many 410's.

On the TSR and Big Game deals I imagine they have different stuff between drivers because the drivers had product deals before hand that followed them to their new owners....Shatz has been a J&J/Shaver guy for a long time and been very successful with that stuff...Steve has been in Maxims for a long time...you know darn well that those guys aren't paying retail price for chassis, shocks, wheels, etc. If the driver has a deal coming in and has been fast with that stuff I can't imagine any owner would make them use something else....with TSR it would appear that Tony just wanted to have the only guys who could beat Kaseys guy (Saldana) regularly driving for him...both had good operations already so it seems Tony just handed them a checkbook and a bunch of decals and said "you're driving for me now".
Loose is when you hit the wall with the rear of the
car, tight is when you hit the wall with the front of
the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and
torque is how far you move the wall.
