This event is in honor of a man, Louie Vermeil, who tirelessly gave five decades to California non-wing sprint car racing. Because of Louie's efforts, both Napa Valley Businesses and the Sprint Car Community join together each season to create a unique sprint car event unlike any other in the Country. Just like years past, this racing event will see some of the best drivers that California has to offer competing for prize money and prestige. Sprint Car drivers representing USAC/CRA, GSC, USAC Western Classic, Civil War and various out of state invaders come together to do battle on the historic ½ mile dirt of Calistoga Speedway. The mighty USAC Western States Midgets will also, once again, support the weekend's racing events in companion with the Sprint Cars.
In admiration for these brave drivers and committed race teams, the pre-race event schedule listed below has been organized for the race fan, team and family participation. All proceeds from these events (wine/beer tasting) are distributed to various teams and drivers at the end of each night.
