What do all you guys think about rapid speedway in rock rapids iowa putting on a world of outlaws show, I know one problem in doing that and that would be they need more room for the fans to sit, So my thoughts are put in some stands along the back side of the track with some food stands under them! They already have 360 and 410 shows come there and have great turn outs i really think they should look into doing this, When they had the ASCS boys come to town the had every seat in the place full and i think the outlaws would bring a lot more people so it would pay off over time!

Two thoughts.

1.) You must have been at a different ASCS race than I was at if you thought "they had every seat in the place full".

There was quite a few empty seats but I blame a lot of that on how damn hot it was.

2.) Never happen. There isn't anywhere close to enough seating and unless the promoter wants to spend the money himself you will never see any new seating at that track. The only way it would happen is if the old wood grandstand would catch on fire or be condemned. Otherwise, not gonna happen.

My third thought is that they would "have" to have 60+ support class cars on the infield as well which would further kill the deal for sprint car fans.

Nowhere near enough seating to do that, they would have to charge $60 per ticket. No promoter is gonna put up bleachers and concession stands on the back stretch- not worth it and too dangerous.

I think they need to just worry about bringing a weekly 360 show back.

Not to mention I think there is a drainage ditch back there that would have to be dealt with in addition to fencing, seating, concessions, lighting that shined towards the North so the people on the back could see something, restrooms, etc.......

Never happen.

+1 to getting a weekly 360 winged class back and preferably drop either the Hobbies or B-mods.

I've never been to said track, but, for what it's worth, it IS possible to set up temporary grandstand seating. Just sayin!

Would be great in conjunction with spencer eithher early or late in the season, great track and great promoter, but as said previously no way can they have 5 support classes and also addiontal seating would also be a problem. But it would be awesome to see a WoO show there!!

The way that track's fencing is set up there really isn't anywhere to set up temporary seating that wouldn't require a lot of fencing work to make it safe.

There is no question that temporary seating COULD be done but I don't think it could be done economically and it won't get done by the Fair board so that leaves the promoter to spend the $'s.
