Another one of sprint car and modified racing's legends in the upper Midwest has passed.
Jack McCorkell took his final checkered flag this afternoon. Arrangements are pending at this time and updates will follow.
Jack and the 98A were a fixture for many, many years at Jackson Speedway and other tracks throughout the region. A member of the Jackson Speedway Hall of Fame, Jack will be missed by racers and fans alike.
Our sympathies and condolences go out to the McCorkell family.

Jack had a gruff side and a smooth side and he was definately a RACER. He was one of a very few who had a genuine 'feel' for a race car and could thread a needle at 100 mph sideways and moving forward. He was a fun guy to be with and a joy to watch race. Sadly another page to our history has been closed. R.I.P. Jack.
