Loren Woodke Memorial Starts Championship Charge At Jackson Speedway
The final three weeks of the regular racing season for 2012 got off to a start Saturday with the Third Annual Loren Woodke Memorial at the Jackson Speedway in Jackson, MN. Despite a brief delay for a rain shower that required help from the drivers to re-work the track, the evening’s races were completed. With extra money in the purses for both the A&W Trucking 305 Sprints and Forbes Meats 360 Championship Sprints, the action was top-notch for the event, co-sponsored by Livewire Printing Company and Loeschen Tax and Accounting Service. A field of 68 cars turned out for the evening’s racing action. Feature victories went to Aaron Betz in the Sport Compacts and Justin Nehring in the Hobby Stocks. Winning the Sport Modified feature was Ben Chukuske, while Casey Friedrichsen won the 305 Sprint feature.The Stock Car feature checkers went toLuke Sathoff and winning the 360 Championship sprint feature was Nate Eakin. Heat race wins went to Aaron Betz and Megan Lappegard in the Sport Compacts; Justin Nehring and Drew Bargloff in the Hobby Stocks; Nathan Chukuske, Chad Krug and Ben Chukuske in the Sport Modifieds and Casey Friedrichsen in the 305 Sprints; Trent Schroeder and Jeffrey Larson in the Stock Cars and Brooke Tatnell and Nate Eakin. The season continues on Saturday night, August 25, with the annual Bicycle Night Giveaway for the kids, held in conjunction with the races, which are sponsored by Sunshine Foods of Jackson, Wheeler Bread of Lakefield, and KKOJ-KRAQ Radio of Jackson. So far, 150 bicycles have been donated to be given away to children attending the night’s races. Action in all six classes will get underway with hot laps starting at 6:30 p.m. with racing to follow. This bike promotion is pretty neat! It's a great marketing tool to get the younger kids in to see racing and away from the video games.

An update on the Bike Night Giveaway at Jackson Speedway for this Saturday, August 25 - 182 bikes have been donated to be given to the kids. The majority of these bikes come from the racers themselves, their own crews, sponsors and fans, and it's all for the kids.
