AUSTRALIAN STEVE TATTERSON PLANS AGGRESSIVE CALIFORNIA SCHEDULE

PERTH, WESTERN AUSTRALIA (August 16, 2012) - Australian Sprint Car driver Steve Tatterson has announced he will team up with crew chief Rod Fauver in the #36AU Tatterson Motorsports entry for an aggressive schedule across World of Outlaws, King of the West, and weekly action over the next two months in California.

Tatterson has accumulated limited experience over the last two years, racing a part-time late-summer schedule for Fauver before returning to home in Australia.Tatterson hopes to establish himself with a work visa to stay in the United States full-time starting with the 2013 season.

The former Mini Stock driver has ten years of racing experience under his belt in Australia.Last year he competed in nine events in the states including the prestigious Gold Cup Race of Champions.Tatterson kicked off his 2012 tour at Calistoga Speedway two weeks ago with the Civil War Sprints.

He will run both nights of 410 action at Silver Dollar Speedway this weekend including the Saturday King of the West date.He also plans to compete in the remaining Civil War rounds at Petaluma and Placerville, along with a return to the Gold Cup and other World of Outlaws dates including Antioch Speedway and Calistoga Speedway in early September.

"At this stage due to my own personal funding of the whole team I am in the process of trying to get a work visa to base in the states," Tatterson said."I am determined to make my home here and compete against the world's best on a regular basis hopefully picking up some valuable sponsorship along the way."

Tatterson has enlisted the help of some major players in the Sprint Car industry including attending the Jimmy Sills Racing school and having his car designed by Kevin Sharrah Designs.

"To my crew chief Rod Fauver:I can't thank you enough for getting me to where I am today!I also want to thank Fauver race ready rentals, Fauver race engines, Kevin Sharrah Designs, and also Jimmy Sills for his help so far."

Growing up in Australia, Tatterson dreamed of racing Sprint Cars but started out his Sprint Car career by working on cars.Tatterson has split time between working on the cars and working in the mines. He also thanks his employer Kiewit Australia for allowing him the opportunity to race in California and take time away from work.

I was wondering about where Steve came from. I remember seeing his name at last years Gold Cup on Rods car from the pics I took..I will look forward to seeing how he does while he is here. It's always great to have new drivers in Ca.
