How does Shatz get to run there with no point loss?

Because he runs the family car (not the TSR - STP # 15), it doesn't violate the 250 mile or 48 hour rule, and he probably wouldn't sign a platinum agreement without the caveat that he could race at his "home track" whenever he wanted provided there wasn't a WoO race that night.

Haud had the car rockin last night. Track had way too much moisture in it so it was hooked up and got some big ruts. I think something like 6 guys rolled. Also McMahan broke the old track record on both TT laps. I don't think the drivers were very happy, Stevie or Paul even made a comment after that they didn't even have the equipment with for this kind of track. I would say alot of shocks were bent or broke as well.

maybe due to the fact that a promoter with the name of "schatz"

runs the place. that is a great facility btw.

Ascot was the greatest of all time..

West Capital wasn't half bad either..

Life is good...

I think there was a song by that name (Red River Valley) a few years back. Ofcourse, it was not RAP so probably the 'older ones" will be the only ones to remember! Smile

Guess again?? We had one of the best 1/2 tracks in the nation, and now have a 3/8 piece of crap. Can't put 500 people in the stands most nights!! I live less than a mile away, and don't go unless it is a WoO or All Star show. The once great track in the area, is now nothing but a JOKE!!! The last regular show I went to back in June, over half of the cars in each class that started the A main, made one lap to collect a check and pulled off. That;s not counting the cars that left after the heat races were run. Many of those racers have not been back since and the fans have stopped coming! It's a sad thing in our area. I have been hearing people that know the Schatz's say they hope someone else takes over the place soon!

Sprintman11...That is sad. I used to drive down from Winnipeg in the 70s and watched Sprints/Lates and Supers. That track was the best in the upper Midwest. Haven't been in years but I've heard its bad now. Thought when Danny took over it might get revived...

Sprintman11, I don't know if you remember but when the Schatz's signed the contract to run the track 3 years ago it was because they stepped forward because the fair board was going to close the track unless someone leased it and no one else showed any interest, so to say they ruined the track and everything else to me is a farse. Had the Schatz's not leased it and did what they've done for the past 3 seasons there would not be racing there anyways. I personally would rather watch the races they've hosted over the past 3 years than none at all. The WoO show they had this year was excellent, after the Friday show in GF I really went into Fargo with low expectations as I believed it was going to be hard for them to live up to River Cities race, I was greatly surprised in how good of a race it was and also how good the concessions and bar handled the amount of people there.

If your intent is to run the Schatz's out and close the track, that is whats going to happen with talk like this. I will say there have been a few shows this year that the track has not been very good and there has been some schedule changes on, off and on again. But my main thing is I want to see the track survive and run, not trash the people who have put alot of their own money into it and are trying to make it work.

How about the results for the race instead of so much complaining. Some of "us" didn't even realize there was a race to attempt to follow last night. Was surprised to see SIDES running with them.

The Schatz family are racers and they will work hard to correct any mistakes they made. I've know Danny for years(back to racing days at Winnipeg Speedway) and he will do what he has to do to make it rite.Give him and his family a chance. They will get it.

From another Winnipeger, ditto. The facility is top-notch. They had rain off and on that night, so how good could the track have been, no matter who was running it?
