Did anyone else see Paul working on Cody Darah's car Friday when they were changing the engine? He is a class act. it is people like him that make me a sprint car fan. He selfishly gave of himself for another competitor to have his last chance to make the feature at the biggest race of Cody's career, with the new sponsors there the pressure had to be unreal..damn I love sprint car racing and would someone please give Paul an outlaw ride!

Agreed, Paul McMahan is a great driver & a benevolent human being. I love seeing other drivers helping out in the pits. I've also noticed Jason Sides often pitching in as well. What I really want to know is when is Paul McMahan going to get full time crew help?!

Paul has always been a great person. Not trying to make any less of what he did or has done, but many drivers/crew of other cars help out often.

This is what sprint car racing is about. When a car pulls in to the work area, there is going to multiple teams there to help out. It is amazing! When a motor needs changed, everyone is there to help. It separates us from nascar. We aren't one team, we are a family!

Paul has always been a class act, one of the true good guys in the sport. I believe he also has EMT training and several times has rushed to the scene of a crash to help a fellow driver.

I have had the privilege of watching Paul from his first ride in a sprint car to present. He is definitely one of our sports true ambassadors. Paul was at English Creek Speedway Tuesday night visiting some friends (Jimmy Elledge) that where racing. We ask if he would mind if I interviewed him during a break his only comment was whatever you need. Paul has been around Outlaw Dirt Kart on and off for many years and sees it as a feeder series to sprint cars. Kyle Larson, Brad Sweet and many more have come from the Outlaw Karts, on any given Saturday night at Knoxville there are any were from 8 – 11 sprint car drivers that have come thru English Creek Speedway.
Once again thank you, Paul for taking the time to share with us.

I also saw Darrah and his crew running to help multiple drivers in the pit area. Maybe it was just me, but there seemed to be more of this happening at this years Nationals. It was great to see other teams helping what is essentially their own competition!

I have watched Paul for nearly 20 years. He comes from a racing family. For many years his mom served as Sec for NARC (now known as KWS) out here in Cali. His brother, after laying off for a few years (Bobby) is now back racing 410's. I would love to see Paul get a "good ride" on the tour. He truly is one of the "real nice guys" you always enjoying watching and visiting with at the track. Good luck, Paul.
I LEARNED ESP FROM MY MOM
"PUT YOUR SWEATER ON: DON'T YOU THINK I KNOW WHEN
YOU'RE COLD?"

Not to get too off-topic, but since you mentioned Bobby, I wanted to say "Thanks!" to Bobby for spending a couple of days out in the 100+ degree heat to be the flagger for the Capitol Quarter Midgets Dirt Grands last week. Looked like he was having fun, despite the heat, and was great with all of the kids.

Pauly is one of the best ever and the entire McMahon family for that matter truely great examples of what racing people are all about. Anyone who was around NARC during the '90's and Speed Week in particular knows what I am talking about and specifically as it applies to the boys mother Carol.
