Surprised nobody's mention this, but is it Kinser's Last Stand? I think he's 15th in the B tonite. Hope he comes thru & at least makes the A. The heat win was really impressive, didn't think he had a chance, but after that????

I wouldn't count Steve Kinser out of anything that has anything to do with sprint car racing.
Was the first time Kinser won the Nationals in a borrowed car?

Even if the King misses tonights feature completely, I wouldnt write him off anymore than Roger Penske wasnt written off a few years ago when none of his cars made the Indy 500. The great ones continue to rise after a setback.

Only difference is, Penske isn't racing the cars, just paying for them...

It's good to have the top 16 locked in from Wed/Thur but Friday could still use some tweaking to be more fair to those that ran decent on those nights.
I would suggest that the next 32 in points requalify just like they did on Friday. Instead of a four invert in heats, start 'em straight up by time trials, top four to Friday A in four heats. Top four in two B's ect. If you didn't make the top 48 on points nights (16+32), you can tag the back of the heats and/or B's.
Saturday mains line up the way they did it this year.
This would have made a deal like Blaney's make him work harder to get through instead of not even having to show up on the track until Friday.

seems to me the guys that didn't make the show on qualifying nights but still were decent in points had a chance to keep or throw away their points. didn't the next 10 guys in points after the guys that made the top 16 have the chance to choose to take a spot in the B or to start over? didn't most of those guys choose to take a spot in the B main on sat and not re-qualify?
i think blaney had to work hard enough.
to indy and beyond!!

I sure hope that the king wont walk away with a performance like that. I think he has another go at winning the nationals in him!

Yeah I certainly thought that if he did not make the Nationals he might hang up the helmet.

Wonder what the problem was with SK. Last night it looked to be running at times and not at times?

Why would he quit after not making the A-main of the Nationals? You have all of the best in world of sprint cars competing.....I could see it if he didn't make the A-main of dozen outlaw races in a row...Even then he might just blame it on something else and make some changes and try again.

Where else is he going to make this kind of money. Can you imagine what he made selling t-shirts this week? I do wonder if maybe he isn't down on horsepower. Are they still doing motors in house?

I'd take what Steve sold in T-shirts for the week.

Heck I would even settle for just what he made off of one size of T-shirt for the week! I will take XL.... anyone want medium??
