Starting on Monday of this week he is 3 for 3 you moron, what have you done this week, ask if somebody wanted fries to go with their order?

To moron number 2, if you are tired of hearing about this young man's success then don't read the post and better still DON'T COMMENT ABOUT IT and leave yourself open to ridicule. The kid is NOT a normal contender and that's what these posts have been about if you haven't caught the drift and you obviously haven't. I'm hoping it's because you are about 11 years old so you have an excuse for what you've posted and leave it at that, but you won't, lol....

So the FRC doesn't count since it was on Monday? I'm not going to get into the semantics of Southern Iowa Sprintweek vs. a week or when the week actually begins as it's a foolish argument, but the point remains the same: there's no reason to shape the argument that way and it's just wrong. But hey, I'm just a moron who is obviously making erroneous statements because I have something against this kid. I'm not talking down the kid at all. Just providing factual information.

To be honest I had forgotten about the FRC and I guess he really is 3 for 4 so I apologize. I thought of him as mainly a non-wing guy and that's why the 3 for 3 stuck in my head, I was wrong. Bottom line, who cares, the kid is amazing, enjoy him while you/we can...

Hell he still got a 3rd in the front row challenge, so that's pretty damn decent too. I was looking at old threads about Kyle from last year and had a good laugh at some of the posts on this thread: thread from pre Knoxville Nationals 2011
Cheers!

It's been a while since I have seen someone come along like this. He has a lot of good racetrack sense and finesse. Reminds me of really great tactical sprint car racers like Gary Bettenhausen, Eddie Leavitt, Tony Stewart, the types that can win from the back and under any kind of situation.

Always shines at the big events.

Kyle is the most over-hyped driver since ?

Steve Kinser

(However Steve didn't have as good equipment as Kyle did, poor Steve had to drive Karl Kinsers car when he first raced WOO. Kyle meanwhile has to drive for so many different car owners, mechanics, series and cars, Kyle should win all his races. We all know how easy it is too win when you drive all different kind of cars for all kinds of car owners when you're just starting out wink

Henry, last night convinced me. Donny started 6th on a track he has dominated on over the years and he never passed the kid. His expertise was always more in the non-wing vein but a victory even in a split field at the biggest show of the year is still unfathomable for a kid with his lack of experience. Heck, he could start twelfth on Saturday and have the eleven cars in front of him crash out and I will still be impressed, I joined the flock last night lol....

I hopped on the bandwagon when I ventured out to Ohio during Speedweek. He was nothing short of amazing out there. Rode the bandwagon all through PA Speedweek and although he had awful luck, he still impressed some of the more appreciative Central PA fans. Great night last night for my previous home with Jonathan and Kyle surely locked into the A.

Yes, be very mature in the name calling. And you have the nerve to say I am an 11 year old. Im actually 20 and a junior in college. You are missing the points of my posts, Im not saying he hasnt achieved many things, nor am I saying he is a bad driver, I actually said he was a good driver. Im simply stating there are bigger things that have happened in the race world other than Larson winning, its nothing new, the kid does it everywhere, so why last night was any different I am not sure. Any time he starts in the top 10, you can pretty much assure he will win. How about the king not making the feature? That is way more unreal than "Young Money" winning.

I thought the most impressive thing he did was ride around patiently and stay in line. He didn't attempt a pass he couldn't complete which is why no one passed him. Everyone was fast but shane came from the back up through and every pass he made was on cars who lost speed trying and failing a pass. If nothing else he has experience way beyond his years!

Amazing that some folks still diss this kid. A win is a win, luck gives you an opportunity but it takes skill to capitalize on opportunity.

If you could have seen him win at Osky from 8th place, hopefully you would give him some credit. Best drive I've seen all summer.

I can't stand when people get called "the next Tony Stewart, next Michael Jordan" etc. Kyle's achievements speak for themselves.

That validates something I've said for years. There's never a next anyone. Every athlete is an idividual. Let them set their own individual standards for winning and record setting.

ok I respect and hope the kid wins, but did he not race on a 360 qualifying night, how about 360 feature night, how about the capatanni open and two features at osky on monday, so I was thinking his Iowa speedway should likely be said to be what 3 of 7, LOL sorry just being a bit of a troll biggest thing most have not talked about his great showing at osky and last night will likely mean they need many more t-shirts which is where the young man will most likely earn much more money that the racing this week, at least the board is fired up

So now he's supposed to win EVERYTHING? Over-hype & lack of respect are both crap. He's REALLY GOOD

Is he good, yes. Is he as great in a winged car as some make him out to be, way too early to tell.

To put things in perspective. He went out early and timed like crap. Lost 36 points right there.

Finished 3rd in his heat after starting 5th. Only passed one car. Lost another 6 points there.

In the feature he started 3rd and again passed 1 car on his way to the win. Congrats, didn't lose any points there.

He's got 458 points. Just might be good enough for the very tail end of the A but I have my doubts.

So to sum it up. He was slow when he was on the track by himself and he passed a grand total of 2 cars all night on his way to a 458 point night.

Meanwhile you've got guys like Dollansky, Saldana and Stewart that passed cars and accumulated more points.

Thankfully they don't hand out the big check and trophy till Sat night. You can luck into winning a qualifying night but you can't luck into winning Sat night.

you said you would be impressed if he made the A main.

are you still willing to stand by that statement?

I remember seeing Kyle race his first sprint car race in Placerville and I believe he was only 14 or 15 years old! He is soo fun to watch and he has proven he can win in just about everything he drives and from anywhere in the field! Last year at the Outlaw race in Antioch he came from the back of the field to 2nd place and was about to pass Kinser if there were more laps. Of course I might be biased because I am a California sprint car fan but he is really that good! Good luck to all our CA drivers in Knoxville (Kyle Larson, Jonathan Allard, TK, Evan Suggs, and I hope I didn't forget anymore else)!

Looking forward to the new Golden State King of the
West series schedule!

Winged sprintcars = the fastest and most exciting
racecars on dirt!

The 360 was good enough to give him decent laps and seat time, which he needed. Its not a pounder. He did well with that car. Capitani classic and Frc were different cars and motors than what he drove last night and the previous Saturday (where he came from 21st to 4th before the nosewing collapsed z) Which gave him more seat time and decent finishes.. Therein lies the difference

After I read that Kyle won 3 divisions at the famed Eldora Speedway the first time he saw the joint and that Tony Stewart was impressed, that's probably enuf said. But when I saw in person Kyle almost clean sweep the 360non wing USAC and KSW 410 weekend at Tulare this year, I was really impressed. Kyle even started dead last against a very stout field of non-wing guys including Bud Kaeding. He is also spanked them in the winged 410's against guys like Tim Kaeding (who earlier in the year won the WOO race there) and Joanathan Allard. He would of won 4 mainevents except his motor blew with about a lap or two in the race. I don't think anyone is saying Kyle is the best driver, or even at the same level of Steve Kinser or Sammy, but so far in his career, I would venture to guess very few guys (including Sammy and Steve) have accomplished what he has. And I don't think anyone is saying he will be the next Jeff Gordon or Tony Stewart, but it sure looks like he has a good a chance as anyone could. For anyone that wants to witness his talents, I suggest you get your Trophy Cup tickets now. Both wing and non-wing main events will be A TOTAL INVERT, high point guy starts last. There is a bonus if any driver could win both, any ideas who is the favorite to win this. The only guys who would have a chance might be Bud or Tim Kaeding. The funniest thing about Kyle, I don't think he even knows how good he is or how special it is for him to win so many big races. Whenever I see him interviewed, he seems so humble and grateful. He was well raised and I would presume that corporate sponsors would like to be associated with someone like this kid, (compared to someone like Tyler Walker wink )

i think some people are saying 3 for 3 meaning 3 wins in three days.

what driver in the nation has three wins in three consecutive days......in two different cars? and all of them were national events.

how many times has he driven the hoffman car? not many. i think he has won in that car almost every time he has been in it.

the kid finished 3rd in the FRC. didn't he also come close to winning the K&N race a few days before that? he still got second in the K&N race.

so out of those five events in the last week he has 3 wins, a second and a third.

the 360 nats is the blemish on the record for the week. damn the bad luck. if you people are going to credit good luck for his wins, you have to credit bad luck for his loses.

what is the old saying? if i had to choose between being lucky and good... i'd choose lucky every time.

kyle doesn't seem to have to choose, he seems to have both.

good work this week kyle and good interview after the knoxville win.

remember to get your mom something nice.
