This Larson kid is a fluke. If he was any good he'd show up in London and throw a slider at Usain Bolt for the win. Now that would convince me!

If Larson was a swimmer no one would know who Michael Phelps is. LOL.

Im personally tired of hearing about this kid. He is just another sprint car driver in my eyes. He can win with the best, congratulations. He has proven himself to everyone in all classes, congratulations. I understand he is 20, and I wish I had the opportunities and accomplishments he has at this age. The kid is good for his age, and only will get better. But cmon, he is just another driver trying to make a living. Let the damn kid race and earn his living instead of praising him or criticizing him. Let the bashing on me begin because I don't think the kid is god.

Is he good, yes. Is he as great in a winged car as some make him out to be, way too early to tell.
To put things in perspective. He went out early and timed like crap. Lost 36 points right there.
Finished 3rd in his heat after starting 5th. Only passed one car. Lost another 6 points there.
In the feature he started 3rd and again passed 1 car on his way to the win. Congrats, didn't lose any points there.
He's got 458 points. Just might be good enough for the very tail end of the A but I have my doubts.
So to sum it up. He was slow when he was on the track by himself and he passed a grand total of 2 cars all night on his way to a 458 point night.
Meanwhile you've got guys like Dollansky, Saldana and Stewart that passed cars and accumulated more points.
Thankfully they don't hand out the big check and trophy till Sat night. You can luck into winning a qualifying night but you can't luck into winning Sat night.
|
And to put it in perspective he did what he needed to do to WIN as I see by the photos it was Kyle Larson in victory lane. You people are so jealous you will make every excuse to take it away from him. Schatz passed No One in the A he moved up cause drivers fell out of the race. He has done what he needed to and has won his last 3 races against the best of the best. Haven't seen a Posse do it nor anyone else so go blow smoke somewhere else.

Dang, the jealousy seems to be strongest from the West Coast no less, has he lapped your fav too many times? To put this in perspective makes the most sense if you can figure things out, lol. Winning 3 nights in a row against stout competition is ALL that matters. On top of that the driver just turned 20 years old and is not too familiar with these tracks, how much talent is required, figure it out folks. His accomplishments to date are so impressive already that if you can't figure out that this kid is the next Real Deal than stupidity runs deep in your blood. Having said that, staying healthy and some other 'lucky' factors will have to fall into place to make him the next Tony or AJ etc. It won't be lack of talent to keep him away from his fortune or success, he's already proven that unless you're brain dead and no matter what he does won't convince you due to your foolishness...
|
There is no jealousy from this West Coast resident. All I said was he had some good fortune fall in his lap(which he did and if you want to argue that point you're not being realistic). I also asked what was so "unreal" about last night. Anytime he has won a race for the past 5 years, all we read about is how unreal Kyle Larson is. At what point is he going to show up at a race and be expected to be one of the contenders night in and night out? Year 10? year 20? Year 30? Ok, year 30 WOULD be unreal.
I (for one), am so realistic about his talent, that when he doesn't win, I am surprised. But last night he was fortunate to have a couple of strong cars fall out of the race, and he as such stated while standing on the podium. It's his Hoseheads Fan Club that need to get over whatever it is that triggers their endorphins anytime the mere mention of his name hits the airwaves. Maybe Allan Holland & Co can add a new category for all the Larson Homers. It wouldn't even bother me if they put it right at the top. I'd be the first to view the new posts every morning.

If Larson is so damn lucky, why hasn't anyone offered to take him to Vegas or Reno for a weekend? Hell, he's in Iowa right now, so Atlantic City would be a shorter flight.

And little did I think - gone are the days of the signs and banners that read, "Anybody but Kinser" or "Anybody by "Schatz". A new villan has arisen.

What is 'unreal' is the fact that the kid wins in midgets, winged sprints, traditional sprints, stock cars and about anything on 4 wheels and he is 20 friggin years old. He isn't beating the Sisters of the Poor either, he's beating the best in the bizness and some people who have a jealous issue for whatever reason can't handle it. Put some of his wins into perspecitive, ie; the Gold Cup, the Triple Crown at Eldora just to name a few, for a teenager for God's sake, they alone make this kid a wonder no matter what he does or doesn't do the rest of his career. Deal with it or let it go, these words mean nothing and while not a cheerleader or bigtime fan I admire the kid for beating the odds and making things look pretty easy. Something that may piss off the naysayers and jealous group a lot has to be this young man's humility and genuine niceness. He appears to be overly polite and well spoken and those are two qualities most haters seem to lack in large doses. I hope Sammy (and about a dozen others) win on Saturday night but if this guy ends up there I won't be totally shocked or as suprised as I may have been when Kraig or Tim won, in fact nothing this man achieves in the future will ever surprise me now.....

Well said MSPN. As I stated in another thread.......I am amazed at his poise and grace when a mic is put in his face. That is the part that impresses me the most. He proved his ability behind the wheel long ago and has nothing left to prove to me............unless it's to show he can back up a hauler! j/k Not many 20 year olds can pull off what he does after the fact.

Congrats to Kyle and his crew. People should keep in mind this was Kyle's 1st nationals. People will always talk.Whether they are talking good or bad. They are still talking. When you looking at his stats and the races he has won at the young age of 20.He has done more in a shorter amount of time than some have done in there career. He will be racing full time at the next level within the next few years.

With all due respect most of us here are just as "sick" as you put it of hearing about the Posse. That said I give much respect to the actual Posse drivers just a handful of their fans annoy the shit out of me.
Cheers!

Stuff like this is just annoying to see.
I'm not anti-Larson by any means and think the kid is incredibly talented, but 3 for 3 is just wrong. 360 Nationals, Capitani Classic, and FRC Winged. He's 3 for 6 (7 if you count his 360 nationals prelim night). There's absolutely zero reason to try to skew the numbers, winning three of six or seven is impressive nonetheless given the competition.

With all due respect noone starts talking about posse besides the people who sit and bad mouth them. I said nothing about the posse in my post, so why don't you learn to stay on topic. I believe the post underneath me said the same thing I said in different words. "why can't he just be a normal contender at the track every night". I do believe I said he was good as well, so why don't you stop bad mouthing me just because my picture is of the posse and go back to topic. All I said was I am tired of hearing about when he wins, yes he is a race car driver that's what they tend to do when they put themselves in a race. Why does no one make a thread when he doesn't win?
