It has been over 31 years since Eagle Raceway had a weekly non-winged sprint car show, and there has been no non-winged competition at Eagle at all for several years now. But that will all change next week!! On August 3rd, 2012 fans will have a chance to see something that's never happened before in the state of Nebraska. The wingless wizards of the United States Auto Club will be bringing their 410 Sprint Cars to compete at "America's Home Track" Eagle Raceway that evening as Bully Dog presents the Rumble in the Bullring!!

Originally scheduled for last August, the show had to be cancelled due to an unfortunate gift from Mother Nature in the form of rain. But, the forecast looks great for this year’s event and we’re looking forward to a great night of racing.

Although Tony Hulman formed USAC in 1955, the non-winged sprint cars have never competed in the Cornhusker State; but that will be remedied when the nation's oldest continuously run nationally touring dirt track racing series visits the high banked 1/3 mile. The Amsoil USAC Sprint Cars compete from coast to coast each year, and Eagle Raceway is honored to have them visit our facility in their first foray into the Cornhusker state.

Currently, Jon Stanbrough leads the season-long points race. Levi Jones, Dave Darland, Bryan Clauson and Damion Gardner round out the top 5 in the chase and all of them hope to close the gap with a victory at Eagle. Those 5 and many, many more drivers will be the first USAC competitors to drive their 410 fire-breathers here, and will give the folks in the stands a thrill that will stay with them for many years to come. Also on the card are the NCRA/MARS Super Late
Models and the Mod Lites.

Front gates will open at 5:30, with adult admission being $20. Youths (6-12) are just $5 with kids 5 and under free. There will be a Super Happy Hour from 6-7, featuring the Crown Snapper. The Crown Royal Girls will be in the courtyard from 6 until 8 P.M. There will be a Monster Sampling from 6 to 7 also. Jolly Bean the Clown will be in the courtyard to help entertain the kids from 5:30 until 7:30. In addition face painting will be going on from 6:30 to 8:30. Hot laps begin at 6:30 with racing beginning at 7.

Please note: This is a special event. Be our guest passes, Buy one get one free passes and all other regular event passes are not valid for this event.

Pit gates will open at 4 P.M., and pit passes will be $30. See the driver information tab at http://www.eagleraceway.com/EagleRaceway/?page_id=2382 for necessary forms.

As much as the area could use rain, I really doubt we'll see anything but fantastic racing action on the high banks. Smile

and shame on me for not emailing you a "thank you." Been busy but this flyer has been posted on my message board, my facebook as well as the MARS facebook. Even done a pre-pre release on the late model end of things.

Oh and "thank you" again by the way...Smile

Please, please, please remind them to use the water truck like it was 1999. There is zero ground moisture within 5 ft.so dont let this be a dry slick dust bowl by the end of the heat races... It has become too often this happens anymore. Almost like the black art of track prep is not being passed on or remembered. Couple that with 1-2 too many support classes running on a given night and you got a dust bowl... Please, it is Aug.... We all endure it and come back but we are hooked. I bet for every dry slick dust bowl that the wind is blowing toward the stands there are 50 poeple there that will never come back to a dirt track after that event. Cant wait!

I do enjoy late models and of course wingless sprints in the midwest is always a treat. Can anyone give any estimates on car counts for the sprints and late models?

I can't speak on the USAC sprint side except for the usual cast of racers and as far as late model drivers are concerned, the following is just a partial list:

Terry Phillips, Kyle Berck, Jesse Stovall, Tony Jackson, Jr., John Anderson, Chase Junghans, Justin Asplin, Wylan Petrie, Tommy Weder, Jr., Matt Johnson, Brandon Morton, Gary Gorby, Leroy Johnson, Delbert Smith, Eric Turner, Bo Egge, Denny and Dave Eckrich.

Back in 2010 when NCRA was there on their own there were 29 late models on hand. With this being a duel event with the MARS DIRTcar series, I would guesstimate at least 35 late models.

I'm proud of you Humper !!! I was out your way last weekend for the midgets. I stopped by Eagle to have another look at the place. Only been there once, and forgot what it looked like. Very similar in size and shape to US 36. Wish they'd book POWRi midgets there next year instead of McCool Junction....

I had to choose a weekend to come out,and I chose the midgets. Would have liked to have done both weekends. I wish the USAC races weren't up against the Belleville Midget Nationals though....

Hope its a great turn out and great racing too !!

I for one cannot wait for this race. I would guess that maybe 15 non-wings will show up. Eagle has an extra purse for any 360's that show up and race with the 410's. I will probably go to US 36 as well. Smile
