On a night that could have been easy to start late on, a big THANKS goes to the gang at Knoxville.

The races started exactly on time and ran through as quick as to be expected for the huge number of races held.

The only real delays in the program were for the severe accidents that took place.

Thanks to the Knoxville team, all drivers were able to climb out of their broken cars by themselves.

Rumor has it, Billy Alley had to have the cage cut off of his car to exit it.

Rumor also has it that the team had to hustle off to their shop to get another car for Billy to use the rest of the evening.

I was told the spare got to the track in an open trailer being towed by a Cement Mixer, this would be a photo worth a million words if true. lol

Thanks again to all of the various groups that showed up to the Midget Nationals, and to the track for doing a fine job under adverse conditions.

Great show! This was Knoxville at it's best. No doubt, a lot of work went on during the day to make this possible. Mother nature did a good job of watering the racetrack. Yet with all that moisture it was still a multi groove racing surface.

Agree with you 100%, The Knoxville gang did a great job but the crash on the first lap of the Doodlebug, the driver did not walk away. He took a very nasty ride and was taken out on stretcher to hospital. hope he is okay. He was the same driver that won at Donnelson last Wednesday I'm thinking.
