Jackson Sprint Car Nationals Caps Off JSTS Speed Week Series The finale of the 2012 Jackson Speedway Touring Series Speed Week was played out on the historic half mile of the Jackson Speedway Saturday night, July 21 The 34^th Annual Jackson Sprint Car Nationals, sponsored by Svoboda Excavating and Erickson Trucks and Parts of Jackson, featured heat races and features for the A&W 305 Sprints and the Forbes Meats – JSTS 360 Sprints, whilefeature races, with lineups determined by points, were run for the the Sport Compacts, Hobby Stocks, Sport Modifieds and Stock Cars. A total of 23 JSTS sprints were joined by 55 cars to fill out a 78-car field in the pits. In the sprint car heat races, the 305 heat wins went to Bill Boles and Derrik Lusk, driving a “throwback” number 2 sprinter to celebrate the 20^th anniversary of his father, Gabby Lusk’s track championship season in 1992. In the JSTS 360 Heat races, Nate Eakin, Derrik Lusk and Lou Kennedy, JR, recorded the victories. Feature victories went to Aaron Betz in the Sport Compacts, Josh Peters in the Hobby Stocks, Matthew Looft in the Sport Modifieds and Luke Sathoff in the Stock Cars. For the sprint features, Bill Boles held off a challenge from Derrik Lusk after a restart to claim the A&W Trucking 305 Sprint Feature victory of the Jackson Nationals. In the JSTS – Forbes Meats 360 feature, Skylar Prochaska pulled off a huge pass for the lead and held off a challenge from both Thomas Kennedy and Lou Kennedy, JR. to claim his first Jackson Nationals title. Racing action will continue this Thursday, July 26 with the Eve of Destruction Demolition Derby and races in conjunction with the 2012 Jackson County Fair. Then on Friday night, July 27, Jackson Speedway will host the All Star Triple Play, with the All Star Circuit of Champions 410 Sprints, the JSTS Forbes Meats 360 Sprints and the A&W Trucking 305 Sprints.
