Really,

Kyle Larson 4th, Sammy 6th and Billy Balog 10th? I think there might be a few guys out of rank here and a ton of guys missing. Billy Balog? Doing a great job in the IRA's but 10th in the power rankings? Don't plan on seeing him in the A or B main this year at Knoxville.

Just saying.

Sammy? Takes back over the world of outlaws points lead and is 6th in the power rankings? I'm lost.

Kyle Larson, wins 2 winged sprint car races in 2 days, and since the power rankings brought it up (even though it's not sprint car related), drives a truck on a 1 1/2 mile track from 31st to 9th in about 40 laps before settling for 10th in his debut. He's 4th in the power rankings?

Good one.

Am I alone on this?

agree with you. whoever does the poll needs to look outside the box a little more...or to say, "fair and balanced".

Ascot was the greatest of all time..

West Capital wasn't half bad either..

Life is good...

We appreciate the feedback. Please note the power rankings are the opinions of sprintsandmidgets.com staff. We believe that 100 different people could come up with their own top 10 and all 100 would be different. There is no doubt it can be challenging to follow over 50 races in a given week, espcially since we can't watch every single one. Sometimes we choose a driver because they got their first win, or took over the points lead, or domiated the competition (no matter what series they run or what the car count is). We mention on the page that "The list will include winners, hard chargers and anyone that gets our attention," with emphasis on 'who gets our attention.' We do the column because we love the sport and want to share what we thought were the best stories of the week. Maybe Power Rankings isn't the best term to use, but we like it for now. We welcome anyone to send us an e-mail each Sunday and let us know who they think should be on the list at [email protected]. Thanks!

Understand your position and respect your love for the sport. Also agree that instead of "power rankings" maybe "this weeks hot performers" would make sense. Either way, I get what you are trying to express. I have always thought of power rankings as a ranking of the best of the best. Like I said, Billy Balog is doing a fantastic job in IRA and is THE top performer. However, if I were ranking the top 25 winged sprint car drivers in the country, he would not make the list. To me, there is no arguement that the top 2 in the power rankings are going to be The King and Sammy right now. My opinion.
