Had to come thru B transfer to get into feature as another racer, normally a fair racer, banged him pretty good in last corner, last lap of his heat, causing him to fall to 4th and not transfer to feature. Had to pass a lot of cars in feature, anywho he said to fans that he "flipped him off going to the scales cuz I thought he was going to put me into the 8th row". 6,000 plus fans had a good laugh over that. Great track prep needed due to huge afternoon rain, but track was very very fast. Congrats to RRV crew.

Started me thinking about the very very few active napscar drivers willing to go out onto dirt tracks around the country and finish 7th or 4th as he did last year(or was it 3rd), giving the local drivers something to tell their grand children,"hey I once beat Tony Stewart". Tells me Smoke doesn't care about that. Sure he has an ego like all drivers, but his allows him to go out and do what he loves to do, so he finished 7th, so what, he had fun. I know Carl Edwards does this also, Kasey Kahne also, but very very few others, actually can't think of any right now. Makes me think very highly of those willing to run 5th or 10th or not even make a show.

Also the track or Tony or whoever got Johnny Gibson to stay around since Sat. to announce, which is always a + to hear Johnny doing the call.

On the not so great side was the muddy pits from a rain storm at about 4pm right before the show and the accident at the end of the A mod Feature, the winner came across the checkers and at the same time a mod coming out of 4 lost it in a rut and rolled a couple of times, but they had fireworks so just as the guy landed on his lid the fireworks show starts and went while the rescue crew was trying to get the guy out, poor timing. The guy walked away from it fine though.

Was a good show, Schatz's and all the employees deserve a pat on the back for a great couple of shows this past week.

Was this some kind of WISSOTA series race? Who won?

Like him or not you gotta admit its pretty nice of Tony to show up at all these dirt track races and help the promoters make a buck. Not many racers at that level think about anyone but themselves.

Red River Valley Speedway isn't Wissota sanctioned this year because they went to pretty much all Sat. night races this year with the exception of a couple Weds. shows (the Tony Stewart night being 1 and an all-star show being the other) but anyways, Wissota wouldn't sanction them because I guess there are a couple other tracks too close that already run Sat. night shows so they thought it was too many for the area, so the Schatz's just said screw it and are running unsactioned but they run the Wissota rules still. Last night they ran Street stock, A & B mods and Late models. Matt Auckland won the Late model feature. Brad Seng was the driver that pissed Tony off in the heat, I will say that Seng did make a pretty pushy move to pass him and I can see why he wasn't happy.

And if you missed that, Schatz's run the track so its not just a random Tony Stewart decided to show up, I'm sure theres a business agreement of some kind. I sure don't mind, this is the 3rd year they've done it but the first year I went to the Late Model show, I usually just go to the All-Star show they get him there for.
