Me and my friend have this bet on something really stupid...he says the Knoxville Nationals is a WoO race and for points I say its not a WoO points race but it is a WoO race. So I'm asking you sprint car naiton to help us out.

Its on the WoO schedule so there are points involved. I believe the teams get show up points only.

in a way you are both correct to some extent.
i believe everyone gets show up points, but there isn't any racing for points.
when the woo has a multiple day show that teams qualify on different days and the whole field doesn't compete against each other every day, they do a show up points only deal.
the gold cup is the same way when it is a three day show with separate qualifying nights and the final on the last night.
to indy and beyond!!

It is a "WoO" show - and is sanctioned by the WoO - but basically in name only. The WoO teams indeed get "show-up points" only and the WoO officials are "present" but the event is run by Knoxville Raceway under the Nationals format.

You lose the bet. It is a points race as they do get show up points, as with the King's Royal i believe. So, technically, it is a WOO points race. But, after that they do not get any points I do not believe.
