After USAC at Port Royal tonight, I have decided the WoO has to add one more "no" to their rule book. Right after no canted valves, no Hoosiers, no American Racers, no rotated valves, no big injector stacks, no splayed valves, no big blocks, no big small blocks, no turbos, no over head cams, no titanium, no cars less than 1400 lbs, no superchargers etc etc etc they need to add no wings. It was a great night. Four cars nose to tail against the fence for the lead. A big thank you to the locals for taking off the crutch. We need to have a few nonwing shows a year so our boys can get used to it.
Oh and the Mopar was the car to beat untill its driver ran out of talent.
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

Wing cars are fun to watch, there's no doubt about it but when you talk to wingless sprint car owners they will tell you they get many more laps out of a motor than the wing guys do. Now all things even the midwest tracks for wingless guys are usually as a rule much smaller than the east. Better racing without the wings at all the USAC shows on the Eastern Storm.

It was an excellent show at Port last night! I really enjoyed the racing despite that fact of not being able to easily identify who's in all of the cars. I guess I should pay a little more attention to the series than I do.
Hagen looked fast all night, and would have had them covered if not for the bobble in turn 3. The save Darland made on the frontstretch on about lap 24 after getting into the wall on the frontstretch was pretty impressive too.
It was good to see Port have a great crowd on hand for this show!
When Stanbrough was interviewed, he said it was the only track they came to where the promoters personally thanked the drivers for racing there. He said he would like to come back to Port for that reason, however the rest of the tracks on the Eastern Storm treated them like dirt.
I still prefer my winged shows however it would be nice to see these guys around here more than once a year. From a fans prospective, I do not like their format for lining up the feature at all.

I am not disputing at all what Stanbrough said, but that just surprises me because Bob Miller is one of the better promoters in the region, IMO. Miller was pretty much the focal point in getting USAC to come east at all several years ago.
I can definitely see that attitude being present at Big Diamond, though. The track pretty much told the Super Sportsman teams to Eff themselves after the pit price controversy earlier in the season.

Be nice to see WoO at least take the lid off when they run tracks where the regular weekly show is run in that fashion.
REMEMBER OUR TROOPS!!!
