Jessee Heating and Air Brings Cool Breeze into Chico this Friday Night

Jessee Heating and Air will help sponsor point race number twelve during the 2007 Feather Falls Casino / Hoosier Race Tire / Coors point championship season which continues this Friday night, June 22, at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico. Three divisions will highlight the night of racing. The 410-sprint cars, wingless sprints and dirt modifieds will all converge on John and Robbie Padjen's Silver Dollar Speedway.

Front grandstand gate will open at 6 pm. Racing is slated to start at 7 pm. Adult general grandstand admission is $10.00. Juniors and seniors are $8.00 while children are $4.00.

One of the most recognizable sprint car teams throughout this decade has been the Johnny Gray driven #71. The Chico driver and his father's business, Jessee Heating and Air, have been on the side of their sprint car since day one. This Friday night, Jessee Heating and Air is sponsoring the races. The sprint car main event winner will receive $2,000 for the win. A large field of 410-winged sprint cars are expected to try and cash in on the big payday. Chico's Jonathan Allard has dominated of late winning four out of the nine main events he has entered this year. Second place Andy Forsberg is looking to get off the snide and win his first main event of the year. The defending champion won two main events last season. Oroville's Sean Becker is set to rebound after a tough weekend in Skagit. Chico's Stephen Allard is making a mid-season charge to the top of the standings. Chico's Brett Miller is hoping to find victory lane soon. Miller's last visit came on April 6. Miller's last main event saws him finish in third, right behind Gray.

Chico's Johnny Gray is coming off his best main event finish of the year at Silver Dollar Speedway. On June 8, Gray finished second to Jonathan Allard during the 25-lap main event. That finish moved Gray into the top ten of points. Last week the team ventured to the state of Washington to race the Dirt Cup at Skagit Speedway. On Thursday night the team and driver finished a career best third in the main event. Needless to say, things are starting to turn around for the Chico based sprint car team. Gray's best year at Silver Dollar came during the 2004 season. That year he won 4 main events, including Jessee Heating and Air Night, on his to a championship.

Rookie driver Brandon Davis makes the 3-hour driver to Chico from Rohnert Park every wingless race with his father. The family affair now has the Davis mobile atop the wingless sprint point standings. Davis has one win and leads Jay Youngman by ten-points. Davis leads the division with nine top-tens. Matt Streeter sits in third and only 14-points behind. Billy Wallace, three wins, is in the fourth spot and only 15-points out of the lead.

Durham's Mike Sohnrey won his second main event of the year last Friday night. However, it was Chico's Richard Papenhausen still the man to beat in the point standings. Papenhausen extended his lead to a commanding 81-points over Darin Ruley. Papenhausen and Ruley are the only two drivers to compete in all nine races this year for the division.
