The Wild Child is now confirmed to race in the Dirt Cup.
Haudenschild To Drive For Shaylen Raye Motorsports At Dirt Cup (Clear Lake, WA) 6/6/12 by Racinghartmedia
An injury to primary driver Travis Jacobson has led to the Shaylen Raye Motorsports team putting Wooster, OH veteran driver Jac Haudenschild in the drivers seat for the upcoming Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup at Skagit Speedway.
“We talked it over as a team. Travis came to us and said he is not going to be healed up in time for Dirt Cup and we should look at putting someone else in the car. The team voted on it and Jac was available so we snapped him up.” Those are the words of team owner Mike Anderson. “This is Travis’ car and Travis is the driver for Shaylen Raye Motorsports. We admire his putting the team first and offering the ride to someone else instead of putting his health in jeopardy and trying to drive the car when he is injured. It takes a good man to make that kind of sacrifice. When Dirt Cup is over the car will remain in the shop until our driver, Travis Jacobson is ready to hop back in the seat.”
Jac Haudenschild won the World of Outlaws feature race at Skagit Speedway in 2010 and finished third in last year’s Dirt Cup. Over the past two seasons, Jac has won five World of Outlaws main events and the prestigious Trophy Cup in Tulare. Among Jac’s accomplishments in his stellar career include enshrinement in the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame, over 50 World of Outlaw victories, Gold Cup wins, the Mopar Million at Eldora Speedway, The Kings Royal at Eldora Speedway, a Knoxville Raceway track Championship, and the Historical Big One at Eldora Speedway. Since his start in a sprint car in 1974, the Wild Child has thrilled audiences from Coast to Coast and overseas in Australia and New Zealand and is a threat to win everytime he straps into a Sprint Car.
