The racers, promoters, and sanctioning bodies hadn't planned for a speedweek in Missouri this week but it kind of happened. There are 4 nights of open wheel action in the Show-Me State bullrings starting Wednesday.
Wednesday May 23rd Valley Speedway Grain Valley, MO
ASCS National Tour and Warrior Region
WAR non-wing sprints
Friday May 25th Double X Speedway California, MO
360 Sprints (paying ASCS regional purse)
WAR non-wing sprints
AMS Midgets
Saturday May 26th LA Raceway La Monte, MO
ASCS Warrior Region
WAR non-wing sprints
305 winged sprints
Sunday May 27th Double X Speedway California, MO
ASCS Warrior Region
That's a lot of open wheel racing. It's kind of odd to travel from Double X to La Monte and then back to Double X but the Friday show was not originally scheduled and was put together recently. It should be some good racing.

Nice to see these guys putting all these shows together here. Might try to make the trip down to Grain Valley Wednesday night.

Grain Valley will also have a 40 lap feature for open non wing sprints paying $1000 to win on Friday night the 25th.

I was at the WAR Sprints opening show at Grain Valley and they didn't disappoint! The Grain Valley show will be great, I'm still on the fence about going though because that is a bit of a drive and a lot of money for the show for me.

Also does anyone know the cubic inch of the motors in the WAR series? I figured it was 305s like they run weekly at Grain Valley, but someone told me they run 410s, 360s and 305s together and that the bigger motors had to carry extra weight. What's the story?

The WAR series is an open engine rule series....there are lots of ASCS legal 360s, a few aluminum 410s, a couple steel 410s, a bunch of 305s, and a handfull of stockcar/imca modified engines (358s, 383s, etc) with either carbs or injectors.....................................................................................
................................................................JD Black was awarded the win at the series opener after watching the leader at the flag fail to make weight. JD has a 305 in his car. I think the guy who got DQed, Chad Frewaldt, has a 410 in his car but I may be wrong...he also has a converted stockcar engine in his stable but IDK which motor he ran that night._________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
.......................................I don't think the series could do anything better as far as keeping things affordable and competitive. If 475HP 305s are winning races they must be doing something right. Just think about how cheap a person could build a good solid reliable small block and still get over 550HP out of it. With the size and surfaces of the tracks they usually run on the smaller/cheaper motors are going to continue to be competitive. Makes me wish the Stealth midget chassis sittin in my shop was a sprintcar chassis instead....anybody want to do some trading?
Loose is when you hit the wall with the rear of the
car, tight is when you hit the wall with the front of
the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and
torque is how far you move the wall.
