Nobody can deny that Sammy has a very legitimate shot at winning the 2012 Knoxville Nationals. Carson McCarl is the youngest driver to win a feature at Knoxville but who is the youngest driver to Win the Knoxville Nationals? My guess would be Kraig Kinser! And if Sammy were to win it would he be the oldest driver to win it?

I don't remember who it is but I'm nearly positive that Kraig is NOT the youngest driver to ever win the Nats.
Sammy won his one and ONLY Nats in 1983 so its not worth looking into.
Yes he is fast, yes he will be close to the front but for the what seems like 20th time something will happen or he will just plain come up short.

I believe one of the Weld boys is the youngest to win the nationals
when the green flag drops, the bullshit stops!

Kenny Weld was only 18 when he won it in '64 ... Kenny Gritz I believe was only 18 or 19 when he won it in '69. Kraig was 20 when he won it in '05. I'm not 100% sure who the oldest driver to win the Nationals is. In the past 30 years, Bobby Allen ('90) and Steve ('02) have to to be the oldest. Steve was 48 when he won in '02 - and I think Bobby Allen was maybe 46 when he won in '90? Sammy is 56 right now, and appears to be just as fast as he was when he was 36 (or faster!?). Confidence is definitely not an issue!
