Tell me again why they cancelled Eagle.....has rained a drop in Omaha all day....did someone actually believe weather forcasters???WTF

Well, with the downpour that we just had and the looks of the radar west of here, I'd say they made the right call.
I am lucky enough to work at one of the best tracks
anywhere.

I can understand why they cancelled though. Probably avoided losing $$ by postponing due to forecasted cold and possible rain today.
Only thing I hate is when in the press releases they blatantly lie to the consumer. Per the WoO Press Release: The NAPA Auto Parts Outlaw Showdown at Eagle Raceway originally scheduled for Friday night has been postponed to Wednesday, Sept. 19. Rain has soaked the area this week, and more rain on Friday is expected to be combined with cold and windy conditions
Too bad that's apparently untrue, according to weather.com, Bennington, NE (the address listed on Eagle's website), they have received exactly 0.0 inches of rain since Sunday. I'd hardly call that rain "soaking" the area.
(I know they got some today, just they tried to make it sound like it's been raining there all week when we all have access to computers/websites with information to the contrary).

vande77, I don't know about you but I have found that the computer is not always exactly right either. I don't know how many times I've had that I've looked up the local weather forecast and it says that it's raining now but I look out the window and the sun is shining or, just the other way around. Or how about when your rain gauge has over two inches in it but the computer says you received a half inch? And yes, the gauge was empty before the rain.

I would guess that you had to retract this statement around 3 this afternoon. 
Also, it looks like another big swath of heavy thunderstorms is heading this way out of Kansas.The wind is REALLY blowing and it's gonna be a 3 dog night for sure!!
I am lucky enough to work at one of the best tracks

I live in Omaha and work in Lincoln. I will confirm it has not rained in Lincoln or Omaha all week until this afternoon. But it just dumped a ton in both cities and it's very windy, very cold, and going to rain and mist all night. Postponing was the only decision to make. But I do agree with Vande77, the exaggeration was not needed on the press release.

As long as they got it right and its raining now (race time) then so be it. The rescheduled date is what Id had a issue with had I prepaid for a ticket. But this reason alone is why I will never pay for one in advance. Seems rediculous to me that here we are not even into May and the series and track couldnt get together for a mid week show (remember I woulda bought my ticket for a Friday night) before Sept?
