Ok Guys I'm hearing that there is a NEW ASCS head out which is a raised runner design. Which is supposed to give 40 more ponies out of the box. I just checked the web site and find 3 different casting numbers are legal. What's the difference and is one of these the new raised runner design?

If this is true it would make ASCS a big joke. The whole idea of 360 heads is that they are the same for every one, at least till people starting to mess with them. Call Brodix and see what they have to say.

I'm not an engine builder but when I spoke with one in the past the 3 different head #'s were for Ford, Dodge & even CHEVY. Engine rules don't make sense in general (to me) but having 3 options on a spec head for the same manufacturer would be right up there with dumbest idea ever.

There is one head for an ASCS chevy powered motor. 90% of all the Big Time engine builders all use the same Porting service; hence the reason the motors are all so close in overall peak power. Most use different bore/stroke combinations as well as cam combo's to achieve different objectives. In reality ASCS should have done one of two things vs what they did. They should have allowed you to fully port the heads leaving only the ASCS logos, or no porting at all. It is no cheaper to port a set of ASCS heads now vs a complete port job on another set. I will not touch a set of ASCS heads for less than $1200. When you create a head rule like ASCS did, you are begging for cheating.

Once Brodix and Hahn-Job have gotten into your pockets, they do not give a rats axx what you do to those heads and neither does anyone at ASBS.
