The temperature was about 20 degrees cooler than during the opener, and about 20% of last weeks crowd showed up this week.

33 Cars were present this week and it was another 4 heat race format.

Frank Cozze, who looked the best I've seen him in a sprint car, won the 1st heat. Mark Smith won heat #2. Williams Grove opener winner Danny Dietrich won heat #3 and Lance Dewease won heat #4.

The heat races had fans scratching their heads wondering if we were listening to Craig Rutherford or Bruce Ellis on the mic. Ellis did put on his glasses to realize Mark Smith changed car numbers over the winter.

With rain approaching, Williams Grove did the unthinkable and ran the Late Models before the Sprint Cars, citing no more Late Models shows on the schedule as the reason. Surprisingly the Late Models ran all 25 laps without at caution. Jason Covert won and would be interviewed after the Sprint Car feature due to impending rain. As the cars pushed off, it did start to rain as fans exited for the parking lot. After about 5 minutes of light rain, the drivers were asked to report to their cars & return to the track...some fans didn't. Apparently Big Right Rear was satisfied missing the opener last week, and showing up this week only to exit the facility after the Late Model show. What a dumbass! 38 late models were on hand.

Hodnett lead from the start and the race was caution free until lap 23, when a fine top 5 run by Cory Haas, saw his left rear tire let go entering turn 3. Apparently Pittman got a piece of the action and went Pitside as well. Hodnett took off and won, keeping xXx out of victory lane at Williams Grove in 2012.

The feature saw great racing between Leppo, Montieth & Cozze in the closing laps.

Tune in next week as the Pat Cannon show returns...

I think BRR left early because he wanted to rest up to see "Cooter" from the original Dukes of Hazzard series along with the General Lee @ Higgerstown that will accompany their Late Model program on Saturday... :-/

I know it's not the nicest thing to say, but sometimes Bruce reminds me of the Cryptkeeper...

I'm starting to think I'm the only person in the stands left who doesn't like Monteith. :/ Damn near pull my hair out because it almost looks inevitable that once the leader catches lapped traffic, Monteith is going to get them.
