This car was always rumored to be the first Nance sprintcar with a welded on cage . Don't know where or what it started out as ,but ended up this car in Marshall Mo. At the time of his death Luther Brewer had the frame.

Actually, the first car Nance welded a roll cage on was a leaf spring front, cross torsion rear. Built during the winter between 1970 &1971. It was owned by A.L. & E.R. Chapman of Grand Prairie Texas. My brother and I acquired the car, restored it, and is now at the National Sprint Car Museum.

Ken:

Great shot of you & Jerry's car, That sign behind your car brings back a lot of good and foggy memories. We were running a Beck car out of Mike Kuhl's Race Shop with the first Alum. Donovan small block. We ran a 20.03 on the first lap and was on a good second lap when the motor split into 4 pieces. There went our name on the 19 second wall.

Thanks Dwane. We leave May31st to go pick the car up, been nice having it there but, we're ready to get her home. Sounds like some of our luck from the racing days!
