Brian Monteith bounced back from a uncharacteristic DNQ last week to pick up the win at Lincoln today. Daryn Pittman came from 11th to finish 2nd, then it was Danny Dietrich, Rahmer, and Alan Krimes.

This was the first time Lincoln used their new handicap format. Drivers are seeded into heat races based on past weeks performance then draw for starting spots in those heats. The top 4 from each heat (in todays case) were handicapped to the front of the feature.

There were 31 cars. There were no invaders and the only real surprise missing from the field was Doug Esh.

Nick Schlauch Jr led the first ten laps and ended up crossing the line with a solid 7th place finish.

Ryan Bohlke continues to build on his late season success with his 3rd straight top 10 finish this time coming from 14th to 6th.

Monteith's win follows Wilt and Brent Marks, all whom use XXX chassis.

Points leader Brent Marks was involved in a late race crash and was scored 18th.

The Keen 17 and Brian Leppo looked better. Not good, but better.

Greg Hodnett was horrendous in the heat and struggled his way to transfer through the B. Didn't see what happened in the feature but he brought out a caution and never returned.

The 2010 National Sprint Car Rookie of the Year, Brad McClelland was a DNQ.

Defending track champion, Jeff Rohrbaugh won the 358 feature.

The track was best we've seen so far from the day shows and there were 2 lanes for most of the program. Lincoln moves to a 6 PM start next week and will compete against Port Royal for the first time this season. Port Royal regular Rick Lafferty has been at Lincoln all 3 day weeks. Pittman will also run Port. And after his lack of success at Lincoln, it wouldn't surprise me to see Hodnett test his luck at the Speed Palace next week. Selinsgrove runs a Sunday day show tomorrow. Williams Grove turns on the lights in 2 weeks.

Thanks

Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?
