Does it bother anybody that Eagle is owned by a non US resident? XXX takes alot of flak about the origin of their product, but what about when the profit from Eagle leaves the country?

ask Wilt why no one would buy their tee shirts last year because they were xxx!

why does Wilt , Marks, Monteith come to the LOCAL tracks and barely leave the porch in $100000 plus rigs and trailer and say it's saving them money or else they would not race? Why did and still do xxx copy what maxum spent years researching and developing? ask anyone who has welded on one of the xxx and they will tell you the metal may be chromemolly by the xxx standards but welds like sh!t

ask (the welder to the 21 pit) guy from Sat what he stated

It shouldn't bother anyone that Eagle is owned by an Australian. What about when someone from Australia buys a Maxim or J&J? Or when someone from Australia drops 50 grand on a Kistler or Don Ott. An Australian is sending the profit to the US.

Maybe CAT should stop selling Excavators to China and India. CAT employs Americans to build products for export overseas. If we only bought and sold American made products to Americans, then we'd only have 300 millions people to sell to. Instead we sell overseas, so we have over 5 billion people to sell to.

We live in a global ecomony people ...deal with it.

Actually my understanding is that Maxim copied and then made only slight changes to the Gambler product, who I am sure copied from ________ (fill in the blank). I am also told that many of the Maxims are welded by foreigners. What is the point? This is, like on every other thread, a mute point and one that has been beaten into the dirt. And while we are on the subject of weld quality, if you do a little research it was not that long ago that Maxim was dealing with the wrath of racers who were upset that their frames were falling apart as well. Every manufacturer goes through this, it is nothing new. But the Maxim deal never really got traction because no one ever points out American manufacturing flaws over an extended period of time. It is what it is. (google or bing The Maxim Disaster. You would be surprised.)

Obviously you have never talked to the owner of the 21 team. They did not switch to save money. Perhaps you should get your story right before posting.

I think everybody should just buy their chassis' from Brian Schnee. He is as American as you can get. And you know the quality is second to none. And as an ex-driver he knows what he is talking about. Schnee's for everybody!!!

Speaking of copying (which you apparently cannot tollerate). Maxim's first copy was of a Magnum Chassis. They actually just cut the tags off a Magnum and made some small changes as their first actual chassis prototype. This came striaght from Jerry Russel. So perhaps once you've talked to Montieths owner to get the story straight, you need to talk to one of the long time principles from Maxim to get your other facts figured out correctly.

I guess that is that. The argument is pretty much over when you have nothing more to say. And you have repeated the same dribble now a few times over. Thanks, it was fun.

Not wanting to get in the middle of this war, but regarding the earlier comment of "I am told that many of the Maxims are welded by foreigners..."

Not that the nationality or ethnicity of a person making a particular weld really matters, but we are fortunate here in the Springfield, Illinois area to have two of the best sprint car manufacturers in our back yard in Maxim and Eagle.

Regardless of whether the owners are American or Aussie or any other nationality, the people building, welding and selling the cars include some of our drivers, crew members, fans and supporters. The families these businesses support are a part of our community and go to school and play sports and attend races with our families. They contribute greatly to our local economy and we would put their skills in building safe and fast race cars up against anyone's.

We live in a global economy and are proud of the fact that the cars produced in Springfield are among the best in the world. That doesn't mean that those produced elsewhere are inferior or dangerous as we have several members driving other brands. But we appreciate the fact that when we as a series need a few extra bucks for an extra prize, a Sprint Week sponsorship, or fundraising items that we have two successful manufacturers that we can call on for help. We hope to have them around for many years to come.

Eagle hires American workers, these workers buy products. I see a big difference between XXX and eagle. Do some of the XXX owners get a special deal to run XXX. I do not know. I do not think anyone is getting rich on frames. Do you complain when a Aust. driver comes to USA and wins a feature? It would be better to sell eagle to Aust. person than close the door.

Nice try,its a shame that although an Australian does own that company,it is still entirely run in America BY Americans, and as for the profits, you will find the money stays right here in America. I would be thankfull to the Australian that DID buy it,because if he hadnt, you will find that Eagle was going under & about to be finished & your Australian bought out the debt & kept it going,so really he kept your fellow Americans EMPLOYED by doing so!! Its not like XXX at all.

How many AMERCANS are working in that Chinese factory? ZERO I believe

There you go Cubic, people defending Maxim & Eagle. What was your comment earlier, no one ever comes on here and defends Maxim! Well, there you go. It didn't take long either, did it? Also to MOWA, I was the one that mentioned that some Maxim cars are welded by foreigners. Notice that I did not state which nationality they were, but I have heard that this is so on several occasions. My point was that not even the "American" cars are completely built by "Americans"! I am just tired of the xXx bashing that goes on here. Springfield has been a hot bed of Sprint Car manufacturing and racing for some time and I highly doubt that this goofy board is going to change that. You are right, they are needed there in Springfield. Hopefully they stay for a good long time.

I don't understand why everybody has such a big deal of where they're produced. Teams can afford XXX chassis which allows them to race. The price on XXX keeps the other brands with their prices from skyrocketing which is a huge deal in this economy. The chassis is a proven winner, who cares of what exactly the material is as long as it's safe and gets the job done. This chassis is allowing some teams to continue to race which in turn keeps series and tracks alive.
