Sometimes even the greatest of partnerships run their course. Chris and Jason (along with the rest of the Elite Racing team) accomplished something that has only happened four other times in series history and that is winning back-to-back titles. After winding down from the 2011 season, Chris and Jason looked at their goals and priorities for the future. After much deliberation, they decided to go their separate ways. Chris partnered with Chad and Jen Clemens to form CL Motorsports for driver Stevie Smith. Jason decided to run an appreciation tour before settling down to spend more time with his young girls. In the end, both sides are extremely excited about the future and what it may bring.

I'm sure Jason will be racing full time again soon. It's more a of a "timing" issue of when the split happened than anything. A month before the start of the season is hard to overcome, even for the reiging champ.

From what I heard he is going to run with WoO up until Calistoga. Then stay in California to be with his family and run only local events for tarlton and/or Roth motorsports.

I heard a rumor that the reasons that he himself has stated for leaving "the road", are actually true. But that's just rumor.
