I just received the terrible news that Ed died of a heart attack on March 1st at his home. I've known Ed for many years and thought of him as a true gentleman who had two great loves: his children/grandchildren and auto racing (especially open wheel cars on dirt with great emphasis on his beloved midgets). Ed has been a race and track chaser for many, many years. He's a multiple time winner of the amateur division of the race fan of the year award--most races attended in a given year. Ed also ranks very high in the track chaser rankings ( total number of tracks attended). Someone more familiar with those standings can be more specific. I'm sure more info including services will be posted by others. RIP ED. I'll really miss you and your annual Christmas card and letter.

Please note--there's more information posted on www.bmara.com which is the web site for the Badger Midget Auto Racing Association. Ed would chase all over the country to find new race tracks to watch races, but he always made his travel plans so he would be back on Sunday night at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, WI to watch his beloved BADGER midgets race on A.P.'s one third mile clay oval. Hopefully the people running A.P. put some type of memorial plaque near where he always sat.
