Stephen Allard charges to 5th in Chico

By Gary Thomas

Chico, CA - June 10, 2007... After a few weeks off Stephen Allard and 1m Racing were back in action at Chico’s Silver Dollar Speedway as 410 point racing was back in gear this past Friday night. Stephen came into the evening fourth in points and the last time Silver Dollar held a point race for 410 sprints, he drove the 1m Racing, Rocket Chassis, Finley Farms No. 1m to victory lane for the first time this season. The veteran driver started out the season slowly, but since switching to Rocket Chassis he and the team have been very consistent.

This past Friday’s point race at Chico served as Ashley Furniture night and SA began the evening by qualifying 13th quick aboard the Johnny’s Lock & Safe, Cross Creek Trucking, Platinum Powder Coating No. 1m. The former Silver Dollar Speedway champ then picked up the win in his heat race to transfer the JP’s Paint & Body, Hunt Magnetos, Graph X Designs, Rocket Chassis machine into the night’s 25 lap main event. Stephen lined up way back in the 13th position for the feature and once again did a terrific job to mash forward and finish the race in fifth place.

It was a good points night for Stephen and 1m Racing as the battle for the Silver Dollar Speedway track championship takes another week off this coming Friday. Stephen will be in action during the weekend at the Calistoga Speedway as he sits aboard another car for the night of Civil War Series competition.

Tim Jones Performance:

Tim Jones, brother of 1m Racing's Skip Jones and owner of team sponsor Superior Dairy, will be putting on a solo acoustic guitar and harmonica performance this coming Saturday June 16th at 8 pm. It will be his first Chico performance and will be taking place at the Oasis Bar & Grill. If your in the area please go by and check it out to support someone who supports Stephen and 1m Racing Racing.
